SPECULATION Prime Jedi mosaic and Luke

    I just watched The Last Jedi for the 6th time
    When Luke connects himself to the force again and Reach out for Leia, it should've been "beautiful", full volume force theme and all.
    Instead we have a menacing music before he touches the ground, then for a brief moment you can hear the force theme and then, the camera goes to the mosaic and we hear a menacing music again, why ?

    When the visual dictionary had leaked and was posted here, I was one of the 1st to jump to the conclusion that Snoke blabla ...

    But now I trully wonder why, why is the Prime Jedi a menacing figure ? In that scene, he/she obviously is.

    AT this point anything could happen, cause JJ probably had a completely different vision in his head than Rian.

    Maybe Snoke is a prime Jedi, or maybe even Darth plagueis but to be 100% honest, at this point Idc anymore.

    I will watch IX obviously, but I am not looking forward to it.

    I feel the same, I theorize and will do so until 9 but inside, I'm not holding onto any of them. Better this way, if you're holding on too much, you end up ranting on RT.

    And related to the topic, something else that comes to mind about Snoke :
    (many people claim that being struck down is exactly what he wanted)

    - "Kills his true enemy" Snoke knows about Kylo's compassion, he knows (Snoke does) he is the true enemy of Kylo Ren.
    - "Fulfill your destiny" Oh yeah ? Killing a random girl is his destiny ? I think the "heir apparent to Lord Vader" 's destiny is to rule the galaxy, killing the girl does not get you there...
    - "well done my good and faithful apprentice, my faith in you is restored" you can't get more sarcastic than that...

    I don't believe the music has anything to do with the Prime Jedi - I think it's there to show us that this is the first Jedi temple, the place of light above and dark bellow.

    I think the music is trying to convey Luke's apprehension. He disconnected himself from the Force 5-6 years ago. He knows what is happening in the galaxy only thanks to Rey and Chewie. Dipping his toe, so to speak, in the Force after such along time, he was apprehensive of what he would find, he was apprehensive for Leia. It's an intimate moment for Luke and also for Luke and Leia.

    There is lot of things to speculate about after TLJ, but I don't think this is one of them. Luke choice of Ach-To is symbolical, he wanted to end the Jedi and die at the place where they supposedly started. I don't think it has any connection to Snoke whatsoever.

    But, I could be wrong, if they decide to take another wild turn in EPIX. I am going to see the movie tomorrow again, so I'll pay more attention to see if my reading is different.

    I dont think we are going to get a prime jedi story in XI. I dont even think we will get a mention. They talk so much about letting the past die and with Snoke and Luke, Han Dying its leaning towards the new. We dont get much of Chewie,C3PO,R2 now. They have to find out how they will deal with General Leia. The characters will always be there but now its trying to put a new story of SW out there. I really think XI will be the end of the SW saga, to where the book is closed for all episodes.

    With RJ making the new trilogy film, I see him starting a new way of using the force in a more modern SW time. We all think Rey will forge a new Jedi way in this timeline but they wanted RJ to restart basically GL story with the film/CG technology. We will start with episode 1 and RJ will slowly bring a story to where we might see them hearing stories of the legend of Luke and slowly introduce the lightsaber maybe back into the force in some way. cause this whole SW is known by the lightsaber, to most who dont know alot they know when you see a lightsaber or maybe say darth vader they say STAR WARS.

    You might be right, but in this instance the music could've been something else, something a little more sad instead of "mencacing", the tone it takes is quite spooky

    I just want everyone die in ep 9. Less stupid that way.
    Subvert expectation:
    Rey Live? no, she die. Gotcha
    Ren die? no, he lives, and gone Jedi. Gotcha.
    Leia die? No, she lives and lead the res for another 100 years.
    Hux live? nah he died by Rey force choke.
    Everyone you think live/die will live/die? nah, everyone will die/live.

    If subvert expectations is the most praise thing coming out from this movie, i see no reason why what i wrote won't come out as GENIUS! BOLD RISKS!

    O.K. I've seen it for the third time and the way I see it, the camera pans to Jedi Prime mosaic not to frame the mosaic but water that is covering it. It starts shaking, it shows that Luke is finally using the Force again and how powerful he is. The next shot (I think) is Leia opening her eyes - Luke had reached her. The music also didn't seem menacing to me at all, but was more underlining that a profound and important thing was happening. That's my reading, at least.

    I agree with this point of view! The water being perturbed seems to hold deeper meaning than the mosaic itself. Also the more I see the scene, the more I think Luke is using the Force not only to reach out to his sister but also to help heal her, again showing just how in tune he is with the light side. People thought we were getting a gray Jedi Luke, somewhere between light and dark, but instead we got a Luke so deeply light sided that he has transcended the Jedi and become his own thing entirely.
