So there seems to be some kind of spoil about the FO trying to resurrect someone.

The obvious guess is Palpatine but could it be someone else ?

Or someTHING. It's main goal could be ressurecting the Empire.

Yeah, if we’re referring to the campaign of Battlefront II (which I assume that we are), I’m with you that the name of this project is in reference to resurrecting the Empire, or at least their motives and core beliefs (i.e. as the First Order).

I don't want to say you're flat out wrong because your guess is as good as mine, but Battlefront II gives the impression that "Project Resurrection" is something top secret. Assuming that by this time, The First Order is publicly known throughout the galaxy restoring the Empire doesn't seem like something that would be kept super secret, I think most people generally assume (talking about in universe) that's what the First Order wants to do. Not to mention, in the very end bit when Hask is talking with... I think that's Gleb, Gleb asks him something along the lines of, "Are we still going through with it?" and Hask is like, "No our operations may have been compromised"... That leads me to believe that it's something very specific. You can't shut down a resurrection of the Empire because that's such a broad thing, they would basically have to shut down their entire operation, and The First Order certainly isn't in a dire state at the start of The Force Awakens.

As of 6 years prior to TFA, the First Order is still not a known entity. I’m not really familiar with Battlefront but I would suspect Project Resurrection is before this.

Watching it again, I can see where you’re coming from. I was referring to a resurrection in the sense that the First Order were returning to the known galaxy with a bang in the shape of Starkiller Base and such.

I just don’t think a literal resurrection is on the cards at this point, or was at any point regarding Vader or the Emperor. What else could they be resurrecting? I think that we have a good enough reason to believe that it’s not Snoke at this point.

We don't know when the specific Battlefront mission takes place, we're just given, "Decades Later" but Ben's turned by that point and he's already looking for Luke and Lor San Tekka. I think if we took those six years and placed them on the timeline, it's closer to TFA than not.

I’m fairly confident that it will have taken place in the year leading up to TFA at this point.

But I think that @Jedi MD ’s point about the FO being virtually unknown is a fair observation, and a key one at that. SKB was still absolutely the FO’s big “coming out of hiding” party.

The Acolytes of the Beyond actively wanted to resurrect Vader by using his old lightsaber. Though again, when I think of resurrection and Star Wars I think of one man early...Plagueis!

Actually, they wanted to destroy his lightsaber to unite it with Vader in death, not resurrect him.
If you think of Plagueis early, who do you think of later? Influenzious? :p

But on a serious note, supposedly preventing death and creating life =/= resurrection.

    Ffs.

    Only damn it!

Plagueis may have saved others but needed help in resurrecting himself...or something...

That's not how the abbreviation works!:p

Just watched the opera scene - man that would be thrilling if Snoke is Plagueis. I'd happily give up all my other theories for that one!

    Snoke.

To start a new demesne (chess bord game) after king dies you need a new

    1. chess board- unknown Regions
    2. figures-- First Order(Imperial remnanats)
    3. King.

    Plapatine's idea.

Question stays who is Snoke that was resurrected.

    Haha :p

Honestly, I think I’m happy with whatever they do with Snoke, and I feel like that’s where I think they have the most creative opportunities going forwards (regardless of where you stand on Rey, it’s obvious that not revealing her parents in TFA has painted them into something of a corner, as many fans seem willing to riot for their opinions).

Plagueis? Whill? Ancient ruler? The original Dark Side user? Some hologram which is in fact just setting us up to have Thrawn revealed as the true villain for IX?

The possibilities seem pretty endless to me! I can’t wait, and I’m seriously hoping that, whoever he is, it was Luke and Ben who woke him up on their travels. It would give Luke and Snoke some history, which would be interesting to play out: I mean, what if Snoke’s found in some ancient tomb, and poses as an ancient wise Jedi; he lures Ben over to the Dark Side, slowly, and with Luke’s trust; and then he’s turning against Luke, with Ben at his side? I came up with that in like two minutes, so just imagine the possibilities they could have come up with in the last 4+ years!

    Gets me excited :D
