Ok movie, not perfect, have great action scenes, but didn´t like that this movie is not close, they want a sequel, i don´t know..

    Good Soundtrack.
The actors did a good job, except the actress that did L3, her voice was not natural as for a droid.
The main villan, that ends as a young girl, not wait for this.
Maul was interesting to see, but what i said, i don´t want a Solo sequel, of course if will have, i will see, but i prefer other ideas.
I don´t know if i will watch this movie again in cinema or watch the blu ray in this moment.

    LOVED IT!!
Just finished and I loved this movie!

    The first non-war movie!
I've always wanted to see the non-Force, non-war merc world of Star Wars and now I finally have.

No complaints; I enjoyed this thing a lot and I look forward to more! :D

    What a fantastic birthday!

    Cheers,
    Jayson

L3 is the only thing I actually hated about the movie. Everything else was just some small nitpicking for me.

It's funny. One of the main things that a lot of people used to Vhlor and moan about the Prequel films was the heavy emphasis on politics. Never mind that this has been the case since "A New Hope", people have focused their ire on the Prequels for this reason. Now that there is finally a Star Wars film that is basically fun with as little politics or religion as possible, people dismiss it because it's "eh" and doesn't have enough politics or gravitas. Time and time again, I keep forgetting how incredible fickle the human race can be. Thank God I'm not in the entertainment business. Pleasing people can be a b***h.

People don't mind politics and messages but people are sick of heavily one-sided, clearly partisan, holier than thou BS politics that doesn't make you think but tell you how to think.

The PT's politics were not a problem; it was how they were shoved into scenes at every spot like placement ads.
We're in a romance scene and we get 7 lines of romance and then 26 lines of politics that results in, "I don't know. Someone."

    ...what?

If anyone is upset with Solo for lacking politics; I do not care. I appreciated a damn good romp of a film!

    Cheers,
    Jayson

A fun and entertaining film and I smiled and laughed a lot while watching it but ultimately it’s unnecessary and the weakest of the Disney films. Lacking in jeopardy and originality. Unlike other Star Wars films I’m not desperate to go see it again while it’s still playing.

Some great moments though, Han meeting Chewy, pretty much all scenes with Chewy, the whole Kessel mine and kessel run sequence. Also strong performances which is a real strength of the film. Paul Bettany and Donald Glover both steal scenes. Alden however holds the film together and did an excellent job. The one thing missing character wise was Han’s cynical attitude but I guess that comes with experience as he gets older.

Overall as much as I love Star Wars I feel we need something far more original otherwise fatigue will set in. What I think this film does is highlight why choices made for Last Jedi were spot on.

A small correction - there is one thing that would make excited for a sequel. Making a movie about Qi'ra overthrowing Maul to become the new Crimson Dawn leader. No Han, no Chewbacca, no Jabba, just Qi'ra and the SW underworld. The one after that could about her in the position of the leader of the gang. If you want to learn more details, here's the number to my agent:

Nooo. Don't want a Crimson Dawn Assemble franchise. Let this SOLO film be a one-off solo film. (badumm tssch.)

The film is great. My wife and I loved it. It's very much a film for Star Wars fans. I'm assuming it won't play as well as with general audiences. I'll probably see it again later this weekend.

I actually liked Han's less cynical side and it improved my view on his character in the OT. He's good at heart but his experiences turn him into this cynical, grumpy and egoistic smuggler. He already learned how to shoot first in SOLO and I can imagine that he will get a lot more cynical and less altruistic if there's a SOLO 2. So basically, ANH is now a turning point for Han. By the end of ANH he remembers who he truly was before his experiences turned hm into cynical nihilist.

i would consider my sister a casual fan. she hates the PT, she likes the OT okay enough (doesn't really remember much of it), but she loves the ST so far (honestly, she liked TLJ more than i did on first watch), and unequivocally loved Rogue One even though she didn't understand much of it ~ ha!

she loves Harrison Ford and she loves Han Solo. she doesn't like the recast. all that said, i can pretty much guarantee that she will love this movie. maybe most importantly because she will be vastly entertained, the fan service will go right over her head, and she won't be the least bit interested in nit-picking it to death.

i'm already thinking about how i'm going to answer her inevitable question of "who is that?" at the end.
    and worse: "isn't he dead?"

to her credit though, she won't actually care once i tell her. XD

I really can’t imagine there not being a sequel to this. The ending felt like it was just the beginning. But we’ll see. More than anything i’m glad that this one doesn’t seem to be as divisive as TLJ. All those arguments were really wearing on me and I just stopped coming to this forum as a result. Also I was avoiding Solo spoilers. Glad to be back. Seems like a common complaint is about L3 but she didn’t bother me at all. But I was already very familiar with her after reading Last Shot. I thought that book laid a great foundation for her character.

Disney = pure assurance of a sequel, won't matter what it does at the BO

Voted 4/5, will definitely watch again in cinema (probably 2 more times) and I'm relatively interested in a sequel. I mean, there's a lot of different movie ideas I'd rather see come to life, but I can definitely see a sequel work and I guess I would have a great time watching it. I would be sceptical if Ron Howard and Lawrence Kasdan weren't involved, though.

I thought this was a good film. I probably won't go see it again in theaters (I didn't see R1 in the theaters again either even though I enjoyed it) but it will absolutely make it's way into my video library. A lot of tie-ins and "call forwards" (can't really call them call-backs since they relate to future events) for hardcore fans. No subversion or re-imagination of known characters (for the most part). I enjoyed it. I have gently encouraged other fans to see it. It probably won't do gaudy numbers, but will be successful enough to be profitable.

I read Last Shot too and I feel like she was completely different in the book than in the movie. She still had the whole "Droid rights" ideology but she was far more subtler with her dialogue and not as forward and b*tchy. I actually liked her character when I read the book but I couldn't stand her in the movie.

I don’t know... in her opening scene in Last Shot when she yanks Lando out of the bar and her complete refusal to tell Lando what was going on... that all seemed pretty spot on with how she was portrayed in the movie.
