I'll be honest, when I heard there was going to be a Star Wars show on Disney XD, I rolled my eyes so much I practically got dizzy. Once I saw the first episode I was still being very nitpicky with it but I was more optimistic.

Throughout the season however, I've grown to like the show and look forward to each new episode being released. Plus there's something that gets a person worked up by hearing John Williams' scores and the all-familiar sound of a tie fighter in new context.

This show has great promise and judging by the last two episodes of the first season, the show isn't just going for something cutesy but also that there is a kind of vulnerability in the characters. I knew as soon as I heard the hologram of Fulcrum's voice as being female that we were going to see the return of Ashoka, giving me even more incentive to finish Clone Wars already! I'm glad to see that her, Tarkin, and Vader will have (fingers crossed) large parts in the upcoming season/s.
All-in-all an enjoyable show and I regret ever having any doubt in it!

Did anybody notice the kick Ezra's stun bolts caused when it Impacted against the Inquisitors blade. Regular blaster bolts are deflected easily by a light saber but Ezra's stun bolts cause feedback.

Did anyone notice that in the beginning of the episode(around the 40 second mark I believe) when the spaceship flies through the cloud of smoke, the draft from the spaceship creates the Rebel Alliance logo in the cloud of smoke? I knew from that moment on that this would be looked upon as the unofficial beginning of the Rebellion against the Empire. (sorry if someone already mentioned this. I don't have time to read through all the comments)

Just finished the season and WOW! I cannot wait for season 2. As someone who recently got into the show, do I need to watch The Clone Wars series?

If you want the full impact of Ahsoka, then yes. Although it'll be interesting to see if your take on the character will be different since you first met her in Rebels.

In any case, you don't need to watch it. But you should watch it. :)

I loved everything about this episode
    The action
    the character developments
    Vader and Ashoka
its all great but I don't like how wise Ahsoka seems and can't wait for her demise at faders hand.
    hopefully.

I'm with ya 1000%, brother. I get a fingernails-on-the-blackboard thing happening every time I see somebody calling Palpatine "Sheev". One novel calls the guy "Sheev" and suddenly after almost 40 years the name Palpatine is "like, so last month, oh-mah-GAH!"

Oy. OY, I tells ya!

You know what would be crazy? If Ezra somehow get's chopped in half but somehow survives by fashioning robotic spider legs? Now that would be really cr...wait a minute...Oh yeah...been there done that.

The thing that really gets me about that, is that it acknowledges that they messed up in killing off Darth Maul in the first place.

That, or bowed to public pressure without regard to character or story.

It's more of that, than admitting they messed up. In the movie storyline, it would have made no sense for Maul to have lived, otherwsie Sidious would not have had Douku as a Apprentice, or at least they would have had to spend screen time on explaining how both could be in the same place.

It's more retcon than a "mistake", since at the time there were NO plans for TCW TV show - it was only about the movies in Lucas' mind. Another reason I am glad for the Disney + Storygroup based continuity going forward - it's LESS likely for random things like this in the future.

That said, I too agree that Maul was too fun of a character to have such a small role.

As a fan of the character, I loved seeing his return. However, the method was a little far-fetched. I would almost rather have seen a Force Unleased 2 type thing with Maul - where he is actually just a clone of the original but is unaware as Mother Talzin has used her Dark Magick to pass the memories from the original Maul to the clone. This may seem far-fetched also, but it just works better to me. Getting cut in half is kind of a big deal and has a certain finality to it.

Didn't bother me so much, because the EU had a tradition of dark side users being kept alive through the power of their hatred. Darth Ruin, scion, maw. Maw even survived being cut in half. Gave a certain precedent in my mind for Maul to come back. I know that stuff is all legends now, but it wasn't when maul was reintroduced.

Best episode yet. I like how the whole season played out sort of like a single episode in a trilogy/series of movies if you catch my meaning. If Clone Wars is anything to go by, you know Rebels will only get better!
