The same set of voices happens when he blacks out blocking blaster fire on Lothal.
It is him connecting to the force, or being guided by it.

This really was a great episode, so much so I might rewatch the season.

I purchased season one on Google Play. During playback it gives you an option to turn on closed caption. I usually re-watch my favorite shows with the captioning so I can soak in every bit of dialogue that I may have missed before. During this scene the captions reveal the two voices heard as Hera and Mira Bridger. I don't know what this signifies but the other voice other than Hera is in fact Ezra's mom who is voiced by Kath Soucie who also provides the voice of Minister Tua.

I find your lack of faith disturbing. Nothing is more powerful than a writer. You can survive being cut in half, or you can just lose the will to live. It all works in a galaxy far far away. So two questions if Maul survived why did the all powerful Emperor die in his fall without being cut in half? Since Maul was cut in half what did he land on. His torso stump?

I guess Maul just hit rock bottom...there was a definite release of energy when Palpatine fell. My guess is his body was obliterated. Even though Maul was cut in half, he wasn't incinerated like Palpatine probably was. The Inquistor's death on the season finale reminded me of Palpatine's.

Hey left out Luke. He survived his handless fall.

I wouldn't include Luke in that comparison since the camera followed Luke during the fall, we know he survived, and he was never presumed dead. Mace Windu could be included though.

My main point was who lives and dies is completely up to the writer no matter how far fetched. The Emperor could have triggered a fuel-cell with his force lighting and that's the explosion we see at the end of return of the Jedi. The flame travels upwards while the emperor falls below, The emperor uses his matchless force powers to land on a platform steals Darth Vader's tie fighter and goes into exile where he learns the secret to immortality and returns in episode seven to be the villain.

You're right...anything is possible. The writer can basically do whatever he wants as long as he can justify it; however, I hope the writers of future Star Wars canon will take the Apostle Paul's words in 1 Corinthians 10:23 into account when making decisions like bringing dead characters back...

"I have the right to do anything," you say--but not everything is beneficial. "I have the right to do anything"--but not everything is constructive.
