The Star Wars canon doesn't do reincarnation AFAIK.

It does ghosts of the dead. The light side specifically.

Not that I don't think Snoke being a spirit would've been more interesting than what they did in VII, because it would have been. But reincarnation doesn't really fit Star Wars, IMO. The closest it gets is cloning.

 

These so called leaks are horrible. Especially the one with Rey being Anakin reincarnated. If they went that way I think the whole Star Wars franchise would be finished. Everyone is putting out fan fiction to mimic ESB.

 

So you mean I won't get to hear "No, YOU are my father" I guess I can still hold out hope for "My baby girl"

There was actually a thread about this topic. I got multiple downvotes for saying its a bad idea. Thankfully Pablo Hidalgo debunked it. Although if Luke would really say: ,,No, you are my father!" to Rey, that would be the hardest laugh of my life.

 

I actually liked it.

Sue me.

Luke's struggle made sense, as did his choices.

Rey confering with Anakin made sense, as did the other two Force Ghosts confering with Luke.

Zikram or whatever his name is sounded pretty cool. Good use of an actor who can play sinister, by having him actually be a good guy.

Good use of the Republic in the plot.

And I don't care if the Chosen One, or "the Force can strike back", or whatever, comes back. We're talking about a mystical, and very misunderstood, energy or power that penetrates everything. It sounds least plausible, by a lot, but not impossible, or much less believable, than "Force Awakenings". Why didn't the son of the Chosen One get an Awakening? How can the Force just "Awaken" a person with no knowledge of the Force, and suddenly they know how to do a mind trick, or fight with a lightsaber? That's not any more believable than the Force "striking back" and trying to reset itself whenever there's a lack of balance. It's like the Force throws it's hand to the top of the cliff's edge to pull itself up.

I'm sure I'll take heat for that, playing devil's advocate for a freaking Reddit leak that has almost zero chance of being legit. And I love TFA, it's definitely on-par with the OT for me. But if you want to judge what is and isn't believable for a mystical energy field, Awakenings make less sense than nature trying to rebalance itself.

"No, YOU are my father" was more bizarre than funny (and of course gave away that this is BS). But 'In a moment of pure pottery' is what I enjoyed the most, this typo is so funny that I have cramps from laughing. Brilliant.
No doubt the leaker (aka fan-fiction writer) wanted to be a smart-ass and emulate the Maker.

I can actually people in the audience either snickering at how hilarious dumb that line is, or just going "huh" at how nonsensical it is.

 

Thank the maker someone already got an official source to debunk this. Saw it earlier today and immediately started to dread it.

 

I think they leak weirdness so if any real leaks come out, you think it's BS as well.

 

How great it would have been, if Kylo Ren asked his grandfather Rey, to show him the darkness one more time.

 

Yeah I don't understand why everyone is so obsessed with reincarnation .

Somebody should take a screenshot of the pottery scene from Ghost, superimpose Rey and Ren's faces, and add "Star Wars Episode VIII: Pure Pottery" and the "Show me again, grandfather" tagline, lol. (In a fancy, romantic font, of course)
