Reddit, 4chan, internet spoiler board for Episode VIII

Most of the good leaks on TFA happened after principle photography was over.

 

There are still some general leaks out there though -

Assassination attempt on Leia at the beginning, she's in a comma.
Luke trains Rey. (duh)
Big battle where Resistance gets jacked, halfway through.
Knights of Ren and Kylo attack Luke/Rey. Kylo escapes.
Luke and Rey go off world to the planet (Drubnik?) where the speeder chase happens.
There is a conflict between Laura Dern and Poe on how to lead the rest of the Resistance.

Still...that's only about half the film, supposedly leaded/rumored...but that's lots to speculate on for now!

It's funny to see people dive that quickly on every little word.

 

This is actually good news And remember, Episode 8 was already in pre-prod when 7 was completing his prod. If you want to find artwork from Episode 8....take a good look at Episode 7 artbook... you might find interesting things in there that will end up in the movie...

Mark Hamill loves.... LOVES trolling. People are going for it hook, line, and sinker.

 

We are far earlier in VIII's production. It's that simple. We started to get the very first concept art for TFA in September the year before it came out (thanks to one guy). So at the earliest, we should get some pics this September if the same thing happens (which it likely won't)

 

You can definitely tell. Rian seems to be a little more willing to share some things even though they are basically just teases. Nothing meaningful has really got out.

TBH I personally find Pablo Hidalgo to be a troll of the highest standards basically paid by Disney to mislead without completely lying when it comes to FUTURE canon. As a Star Wars fan I don't find him endearing or fun in any way. It's like someone dishing out a backhanded insult to you and then giggling to try to pass it off as "in good fun".During TFA's pre pro/pro a lot of people were thinking some of the blogs or leaks were somehow connected to Disney/Lucasfilm to kind of mislead us from the art and other things that actually did leak. While I'm not one to buy into conspiracy theories etc. Pablo Hildalgo is this tactic in plain sight. Does he actually "keep the canon"? Yes. Does he give clues to events of future canon? There is no way to prove or disprove anything he is saying is not just "from a certain point of view". His comments on Snoke are a prime example. I feel bad for those who ride on anything he says because he just flip flops and toys with people who entertain him. 95% of what he says seems to be based in some misguided comedic form of twittery word crap. The bottom line for me is "When I go in to see VIII will I know more about what might happen because I kept track of everything PH said?". The answer for me is no. Fans shouldn't feel the need to put up with his crap for him to just turn around and say he didn't confirm anything he said last week.

Perfect example as to why his word holds no weight to me. He fills you in on Saw's role in TCW then when it comes to mentioning some about the ST you get this....

I have the artbook and its amazing! I'm sure a few ideas will carry over to a certain extent.

I think we are actually later into the production since they were "half done" filming according to Rian last month. As @MarsPhoenix mentioned a lot of the conceptual work was probably forming late into TFA's pre pro work in order for them to get going as quickly as they did after TFA was out. I think it's just that like @Viral Hide said, security on this stuff has been tightened up a bit. All of the set pictures and art were so much fun to debate over for TFA. The news is much more stale this time around. Hopefully the celebration picks things up.

 

TBH I personally find your complaint baseless, silly, sad, and at the same time comical. Mr. Hidalgo has been very clear about the things he will and will not answer. He was very helpful after TFA in establishing the timeline that was confirmed months later in Bloodline. It's awesome that someone from the story group is not only willing to engage with the fans, but also answers many of their questions.

Lucasfilm is owned by Disney so they do basically pay him. Congrats on figuring that out.

 

He has flip flopped on several things regarding the ST. Thats a fact. If you want read his nonsensical dead end tweets about things that's up to you. Thanks for getting mad and insulting me about my opinion regarding him.

Honestly, the closer we get to VIII release, the wilder rumors will get. Even by trusted sources, I expect a ton of nonsense that people will fall for. I also fully expect Hidalgo to lie "from a certain point of view" as we go on further. Twisted words to blur the line between a lie and a truth is what he's on twitter for.

It'll be like the show before the main even (the movie). Worthy of pop-corn anyway.

 

Pablo hasn't flipped on anything. I'm sorry that you find his tweets difficult to follow. It's probably for the best you don't read them anymore.
