Reddit, 4chan, internet spoiler board for Episode VIII

Wasn't it reported earlier that there would be some type of explosion on the Dubrovnik planet? That wasn't listed in this "leak" and like a lot of you said, it feels off as there's a lot that just doesn't fit. Kylo already knows who Rey is. It is known. He wouldn't be asking her who she is, genuinely not knowing the answer. And "I'll kill Snoke" out of no where is almost as bad as the "leak" where Luke called Rey his "baby girl." Granted, a reveal with Hux where he ignites a black lightsaber would be pretty cool. I don't see it happening though as I think he'll be killed pretty early on. I don't see Snoke just completely shifting is focus on Hux after he spent so long trying to turn Ben/Kylo so he could become his agent. While the first act started off well, it really fell apart which honestly is probably for the better because as much as I want spoilers now, I rather them be fake so I do get surprised from the movie.

I think the first act could be somewhat legit based on leaks so far - but the rest he just adlibbed in there.


The Hux bit is the most telling, but the Rey reveal even more so - even if she is Random, which I doubt, it wouldn't be "oh my parents left me long ago" and she and everybody else (directors, execs, etc...)was just stringing us along.

Her parents being rando imperials that Luke killed, as some have posited here, would be a much more compelling story and create character drama between Rey/Luke and also something Kylo could use.

It's just lazy writing at that point to say she was just dumped there and nobody knows why.

Disappointing!

 

first thing i've read this morning that makes sense to me.

i'm surprised they are still giving the guy column inches. Act I was well written and cleverly based upon trailer bits and some MSW stuff.. even now it's fairly plausible.
everything after that was.... well.. not good.

the only part that i thought possible was Snoke killing Leia, which in my mind could result in Ren removing and smashing his own mask.

Hux.... palpatine... black saber? lmao, what a complete tool.

Someone did an Act IV which perfectly sums up the whole atmosphere of the last two acts of this "leak."

Of the 3 acts this one was the most ridiculous.
Sounds like it was written by one of the Rey Random /Reylo shippers in this forum.
In fact the line about Rey being traded by her parents for a ship I could of sworn I read someone in this forum write about that recently. Since when was Rey a slave?

Hux is force sensitive now? After all these years? Lol.
And the bit about Rey not being able to kill Ben? Wtf?

 

Haha. Yep. That's been on here. In fact, it's been fanfic'd on here by one of our more notorious Rey Random/Reylo posters. Hmmmmm...

 

There's plenty wrong with this fan faction, but that's actually not that far out on a limb. Her parents aren't revealed in this "leak," but the question is addressed with how she was left on Jakku. This would seemingly leave the question for the third film.

 

There won't be major leaks before december, I guess.

And somehow I like it.

If she knew about it the whole time and just made that up, it's inexplicable. And makes the Disney folks look like tools for stringing everybody along.

That's all I was saying. If it's Random, there are 100 ways to make it more interesting and not contradict TFA.

 

If her parents traded her for a ship how is she lying? She could be collateral and they were supposed to return. Fine, you don't like the explanation, but it does work.

 

Umm if they traded her away, why would they come back? Collateral? I think that's stretching it

Edit : plus that would have to consider that if that was the case she would be property of Unkar Plutt aka a slave. She wasn't a slave.

 

Because the ship didn't work anymore on the planet they went and they didn't have another child to trade !

 

MSW basically just proved this "leak" to be false as in their new report they say Finn and Rose escape with the horse BEFORE they meet the connection. This guy said they steal an animal after they meet. Wrong.

Anyway,
I am against shooting people with such a great imagination. For a fan fic, if one, it makes sense as a movie and a follow up to TFA.
Instead of booing him off, we should speculate and argue... that's the best part of being a Star Wars fan waiting for the next episode

I like the idea of that special and inexplicable connexion between Rey and Ben that could play a very important part in Episode 9.
I like the fact that Carrie Fisher's passing is dealt the way that guy describes it, its impact on Ben & Luke during a fight... how it starts Ben's redemption.
I like Hux to be more than meets the eyes.
Phasma using Finn to find the secret base.

Like I've said... probably fan fic, but truly imaginative and makes sense.

I agree that even though some parts may sound a bit ridiculous, it's unfair to judge the quality of the movie just by reading plot points as opposed to watching everything unfold. I personally just want this to be wrong so I'm still surprised when I see the movie. Obviously that means I should be staying away from any leaks but it's just so far and I'm really impatient especially when it comes to things I really enjoy hahah

 

Has anyone read the leak on MSW that talks about Finn and Rose ending up in a sweet shop? I'm not really a fan of the direction that planet is going in...Police, Horses, Tuxedos, sweet shops...it seems very earth, like it just sounds all wrong.

 

Bespin has got its own law enforcement service, Coruscant also has it (they are even directly called "police,) so it's nothing new. Races aren't also something not seen before in SW, the only diffference is that they use animals. Speeking of the cantina/bar/anything you want to call it - if anything, this description makes me think of Ego's planet from Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 - something wacky, colourful and this description:

This does sound anything but what is on Earth (maybe except for an Alice in Wonderland-themed cafe that I visited once in Warsaw.) People tend to forget that art imitates life and just because someone compared this place to a Starbucks it doesn't mean it will be set up like a Starbucks or another chain coffee shop. You know, I could describe Mos Eisley cantina as a pub with people in weird silicone costumes and the description would be accurate but it woudn't give this set full justice. Comparisons make describing stuff much easier but they should never be completely taken at a face value.
