Rey being a Kenobi will require a huge, convoluted explanation, and an introduction of 2-3 new, yet most likely deceased, characters... (grandmother + one or both parents).

Maybe the Jedi Knights are meant, I think it works for both sides at the same time.
(maybe Luke is upset - destruction of Hosnian Prime - Han and his pupils death, Kylo is angry, was beaten by a untrained girl)
Who knows what kind of a turmoil us awaits in VIII.
It's probably a fake title, but somehow I like it, because it works both ways.

 

If the Jedi massacre only takes 1 minute of film, then they can make her a Kenobi in less than 3 minutes.

Certainly he knew where Obi-Wan was from, and eventually a force sensitive child was born from that extended family and brought to train at the academy. She was the last left after the slaughter.

If you think what we heard of that event was the last we will hear of it, I think you'll be surprised.

If you're not going to spend much time on Rey's family background, why bother making her connected to anyone at all?
They've already set up questions that need to be answered:
- Who were Rey's parents?
- Why did they leaver her on Jakku?
- What happened to them?

If they weren't that important, we would have seen them in her flashback.

Impossible? No... but entirely unnecessary. Why would Luke have to go to Stewjon to find students? Force Sensitive people show up literally all over the galaxy.
I imagine Luke would have started with older children through to young adult aged students like himself. I just don't see him training Jedi from birth while having to feed them, change them, teach them to walk, etc,... at least, not alone.
Also, Rey was abandoned on Jakku long before when Ben's betrayal. Rey's been on her own for 15 years. Ben's betrayal happened "more recently than that" and less than 14 years prior TFA. Pablo Hidalgo has even hinted that the two events are entirely unrelated.

IF she's a kenobi, then it would make sense that Kenobi's child he fathered is the same age as Luke Skywalker and it could possibly be explained that THAT a was the "clan leader" who Kylo seen killed but Rey was his daughter and was whisked away to Jakku as protection for whatever reasons after he realized his father --- ObiWan Kenobi --- failed during The Clone Wars to save his "brother" the Jedi .

Thanks for the reminder, but I already guessed that the title is probably fake.
My point was that nobody came up with this title so far.
It's somehow refreshing and cheesy at the same time.
It works for me, it's better as "The Tale of Jedi Temple" which is bland in my opinion. (it doesn't sound like an act two of a movie trilogy more like a book)
In the centerpiece of a Star Wars trilogy we need a title who reveals turmoil/conflict.
I guess the speculating goes on until the cat is out of the bag.

 

But if they've decided on a title wouldn't they have copyrighted it and bought the url? With a production of this size, they typically buy up several different URLs to keep the real title from "leaking" or at least being guessed.

If we knew the say, 10 new URLs that Lucasfilm bought, I think this board would be able to narrow it down to about three possibilities.

Kylo Ren is not present for most of the film. Phasma has taken over the First Order military under General Hux's command. She is featured much more prominently. Don't worry though, Kylo is reintroduced in the third act. Everyone I've talked said he's "changed" and "way more of a threat"

Poe is gay. He will mention his boyfriend in a brief, almost throwaway line.

Snoke is the same species as Maz and just as tiny. They have some kind of connection.

Luke survives this movie.

Leia survives this movie.

Rey and Kylo Ren have some kind of confrontation in the climax of the film. From what I understand, this section of the script is simply called Rey and Ben and nothing more is stated. No setting, no lines. Multiple people I spoke with believe there is some major twist during this confrontation, and I was told Daisy was shaken up after a read with Adam for this scene.

Finn will wield a lightsaber again.

Luke has a new lightsaber. Not the one from Jedi. I got two different answers on the color of the blade. One person told me it was silver. One person told me it was white.

Both Kylo and Rey will use the force in "ways we haven't seen"

This movie ends with First Order winning.

Episode IX will be in two parts, released a calendar year apart. Dan Trachtenberg is directing part II

 

I enjoy reading these, and they're titled properly as dump, which is exactly what this is - a bunch of crap. Enjoyable nonetheless thanks for posting. I wonder if there is a way to compile all of these "dumps" into one thread and only list them, no comments to compare with what actually occurs. Did someone do that for TFA? I don't remember.

 

Had me until the last line. Episode 9 and episode 9.5? They would just class this as a 4 story saga, if the story needs to be told over 4 films then fine, I certianly won't complain!! But no way in hell would they split an episode in 2, I'm not having that

 

Right. Wjhy not just make it EP 10 then? Also everything is so general, Luke Survies- okay great, but what does he do in the movie, surely if you know Poe's sexual orientation based on a throw-away line, then why can't you describe one thing that happens in the movie?

 

Because Poe's sexuality is the most important aspect of the film

Seriously though how do they know what has been filmed when half of the film has not been shot?

 

I think we should take these "leaks" as nothing more than fun. Don't over-analyze it or over think it. Don't question the validity of it's source or it's story. Just good ol fun. It'll keep you sane.
