    That would be pretty crazy! There was another post from Reddit not too long ago that stated that Luke would be promoted as full blown evil, but it's not true, this sure sounds like its continuing that strategy

    Well...
    Spoiler true or false... that whole "Is Luke turned" is good speculation.

    If we remove the "Can't break my childhood" from the equation (People tend to forget... this is NOT a movie for the OT generation, but for a new generation of Star Wars fans)

    What can possibly be more shocking than the Darth Vader - Anakin reveal from ESB?
    That the person everyone was looking for in TFA is in fact the very evil they will have to face.

    Let's break it down. Sorry guys, but for me, there is no sacred cow here.
    And remember, the basis of this whole new trilogy was "What has became of Luke Skywalker?"

    OPTION 1 - LUKE IS GOOD AND POWERFUL

    - Then, Rey falls passenger's seat to Luke. Luke will be the one to save the day at the end unless he dies in the process.
    - Luke repeats a character Arc he already completed. Being the Hero, once again, that will go and face the Master evil.
    - In all cases, in order to not break Kylo and Rey's great story arcs... Luke has to step down, die...

    OPTION 2 - LUKE IS GREY AND-OR DOESN'T WANT TO FIGHT

    - Then Rey has to convince him to get back in action, train her.... etc.
    - Once again, either Luke stays on his rock (like Yoda in ROTJ)... or die in order for the new characters to evolve in their arcs.

    OPTION 3 - LUKE IS DARK AND POWERFUL

    - Then Rey needs to find a way to complete her training... maybe team up with Kylo?
    - Luke becomes the enemy they have to face in Episode 9
    - Somehow, Luke fulfills a new character arc that is: failed once as a Jedi Master... but ultimately, his two last pupils: Rey and Kylo might be the ones to turn him back to the light...or kill him... then Luke have succeeded in passing on what he had learn.

    Maybe not evil Luke but maybe he is viewed by some (Rey) as being bad because he doesn't want to train her and maybe he refuses to either let her leave Ahch-To or go with her to Crait to help her friends and his sister? Star Wars has always had the "from a certain point of view" undertone.

    It is fun to speculate, but I find it tough to do when something is so blatantly fake. Some rumors are definitely more credible than others.

    Here's the thing I usually keep in mind - if the OP is acting like a vindictive assh*le while leaking information, it's probably bullsh*t designed to look like an angry person who got fired. Problem is that they'd be killing their chances of being hired later by doing so, and few are that bold and (quite frankly) stupid. And thus, I wouldn't give it much thought.

    A lot of what's in there is stuff that other rumors have suggesting - including rumors that have been debunked, I might add - mixed together in a hodgepodge with "LOLOLOL LUK EVUL" for good measure.
    Will he do the fandango?

    i'm one of those that doesn't want him to be evil. He was the hero. He stared the dark side in the face and rejected it.

    i'm with you though @MarsPhoenix... this option is 100% on the table, and we should brace ourselves if it's an outcome we don't want.

    lest not forget....
    indeed.. Mark wanted the dark side outcome for his character.

    We all know that MH is a clever guy, and the rumors about him not being completely happy with Luke's direction in this trilogy could be a big pile of mis-direction to go with the fact that all anyone seems to want to know about is Rey's parentage.


    i'm not saying that i think Luke is the bad guy now.. coz i haven't got a Scooby (sorry.. i am from east London and i actually talk in rhyming slang :D), but we need to keep an open mind till we've seen this trilogy through.

    A big reason this makes no sense is because it implies the climax is on Ahch-To. We know for a fact that it isn't. There's no narrative point in the story to have your big reveal be in the middle of the second act and then focus on something completely unrelated for the third act.

    Also, the guy is pushing for the whole "Leia dies in this one" narrative, which we know isn't the case because Colin Trevorrow - and later, Bob Iger - already confirmed this.
    Meeting someone who doesn't quite match your expectations is far and away different from meeting someone who's actually a secret serial killer and galactic conqueror.
