Reddit, 4chan, internet spoiler board for Episode VIII

I am torn between liking the tone of the Kylo/Rey dynamic and absolutely hating everything else. It sounds so stupid. Especially 3P0 and the droid army.

 

There's better things to do on a Friday night.

 

I actually don't mind some of it, and it's very clearly structured as a callback to both AOTC and TESB.

But three or so problems in particular scream to me that something's up - as in, it's not real - with this "leak":

• we know from the TFA novelisation that Snoke attempted to have Rey kill Kylo and leave to find him to begin her training in the Dark Side. Given how this "leak" lays out that the Sith and family of the Chosen One (i.e. Skywalker's from how I understand this "leak") are intertwined through one's dependence on the other, then surely that implies that Rey would indeed be Luke's daughter? Because why else would he attempt to replace Ren with Rey, if the latter is so vital to his plans? Which leads into my next point...

• ...no parent reveal for Rey, which we've been told to expect from this film.

• they keep mentioning The Devastator as a ship used in this film. Unless something drastic has changed in the comics, I'm fairly sure that The Devastator was Vader's ISD used when capturing the Tantive IV, so why in the galaxy would that still be in use?

 

Yeah, I don't trust him (or her, I don't know.)

 

Mike Zeroh released a new leaked trailer details video, the runtime for the TLJ trailer now stands at 28 minutes.

 

SIGH...THAT SOUNDS ABOUT RIGHT.

 

The problem with all these leaks is that they are not answering the central point of the movie. What was Luke doing on Acht To.

 

couple of things that stood out - kylo turns to the light at pretty much the start of the movie...err no.

they keep mentioning the SSD eventually saying it's destroyed but then luke is on-board captured at the end. don't think whoever made this up realises that the SSD in this movie is the 'Supremacy'.

 

Right? I can see the confusion between the names of ships - I think they meant the Dreadnought - but surely you'd go ahead and fact-check everything that you can, especially things like this, before putting it out there as a potential "leak"?

That's the part especially that's setting off some red flags for me.

Truth is - I believe - that this time LF kept Everything locked.
As some of you Know I don't even buy that old "leak" from MSW.
All the Kylo on Ahch to stuff...
They "read" some things they saw according to what they've been told.
But I highly doubt what they've been told was accurate.
If that source was legit other details (about the plot) by now should have emerged.
Whatever Adam filmed in Ireland it's going to be very different from what many of us think

 

I'm pretty sure it's a fake. It has all the hallmarks of being written by the internet fandom:

1. Reylo: check.
2. Force/life draining Snoke: check.
3. Rose betrays Finn: check.
4. Finn and Rose captured/used as bait: check.

This is all beside the fact that Luke would disappear for the greater part of the film; no mention of Phasma what so ever (who they clearly want to do something with in TLJ a la marketing); no mention of Poe's subplot with Holdo.

If that leak were correct 80% of the story would be Reylo. Nonsense.

 

Snoke drains Force from its captives,this was strongly implied in Aftermath canon novel and now it seems that's it. He is ancient , he gets victim, the more powerful the better, and sucks their life Force to prolong his life and regenerates.

Other things mentioned in today's "chapter" are probably false .

 

They are also focusing a lot in Snoke’s backstory which we know through what RJ has said is not a big part of the movie

 

All I read in the leaks are;Rey is mad, Luke is sad, Poe is rad, Finn is undercover bad, Snoke hides in his big pad, Phasma won't be had, Leia is not scantly clad and Kylo is trying to be like grandad.

Some of it needs to be rearranged but in other words nothing in the leaks has any substance just basic speculation.

 

I haven't read Aftermath, could you quote the passage that implies this or perhaps paraphrase how it is implied?

" Epiphany" :term is used to describe scientific breakthrough, religious or philosophical discoveries, but it can apply in any situation in which an enlightening realization allows a problem or situation to be understood from a new and deeper perspective.

 

Certainly that seems like an oddly specific info drop in the novel. I could certainly buy Snoke gradually regenerating through the draining of captives but not the massive scale of absorption described in the "leak", too grandiosely excessive.

I would also imagine that this force draining required some technique/ritual with the victims nearby or even in physical contact rather than being able to feed off their deaths millions of lightyears away.

As you can see this "Force draining" is not leak at all but an "epiphany" available to readers for more than 2 years (when Aftermath book was released). Snoke uses probably single captive, or few , Force sensitive one, to regenerate himself.

Though, murdering billions and that kind of stuff- doing very evil stuff , as a general principle alignes darksider to the dark side giving him even more "gratitude" of the dark side(again from books).

I personally think this chan stuff is mish-mash of well informed canon novel reader(s), finding facts like one fact that I posted , and than dramatising it to make fun.
