Rogue One reshoot?

Exactly the reason why Lucas didn't want to be a part of a studio. Couldn't blame him for that.

Well crap. I looked. You know if this is true, Disney Knew exactly what kind of movie this would be. Hell, we all did, because they told us. Tone wise it was supposed to be different than the episodic movies. At least that's what I remember them saying anyway.

 

Is there a way to sign a petition or some way of getting Disney's attention to tell them, "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"?

 

Think this would work?

 

They should just make it into a 4 part episode and sell it to HBO.

 

Man, I read just some bits...and looks amazing. I wanted so much a so so heavely graphic shots and environment, if you can say that, but now...I don´t know, but my expectations are drastically reducing

 

Yeah it feels more like a tv show to me...

Good script! (If legit). I hope the whole Disney interference is not true. GL created Star Wars for late teens and young adults. If they wanted a movie for 6 year olds they should have made R1 into an animated film.

Nevertheless we will all find out when we see it.

 

I noted in the more recent report that Mickey Mouse wasn't calling reshoot because the film is bad, but rather because the film isn't freaking awesome. Having just sat through a marvel film produced by a film company that is clearly content with turning my childhood comic heroes into a drivel of movie mediocrity.. I'll take the reshoots for Rogue One.

Also, I have a strange inkling that the execs saw this film in it's current form and it reminded them a bit too much of BvS.

 

...Yeah, this looks fishy to me. He answers anything we already know plus a plotline which even *I* can come up with, while other questions like "Who does Forest Whitaker play?" go unanswered, which wouldn't count as spoilers and it's easy to answer. Not to mention that the "young Han Solo" question is not answered, even though rumors have been flying left and right.

Also, this part:

I don't know what kind of person believes that Disney of all companies will get scared of this. Any professional in the industry has the sense of reality that you don't do that and expect anything to change. This sounds more like someone who wants Rogue One to be in a specific way and just assumes that the changes alter what he wants it to be.

I'll be awaiting the confirmation of identity by tonight.

And something else: you don't change 40% of your movie or even change the ending when the shooting is done. You do it when it's still a script. If you change it, you do it because of the reaction to test screenings, like with I Am Legend.

 

I just read that it didnt have that SW quality so they are reshooting(Adding) scene to have it adapt into the storyarc. we all know the R1 storyline and it wasnt enough for Disney(from what i read) to have the same flair as SW saga it self. We all kno its something different, I feel some type of way about the anthologies but its neither here or there. I will support it but for Disney to make R1 like an "Episode" is asking for too much. You might as well add TCW/Rebels flair to it. GL was really smart to start with the OT. cause now Disney thinks they can somehow add value to the anthologies. man, even the new Beauty and the Beast trailer looks better than the R1 trailer! their mistake would be to add a small storyarc from the SW saga into R1 now. "we dont like the R1 film so far cause it just doesnt say R2,BB8, Lightsabers, Force,Yoda. Lets add Obi Wan! or throw a easter egg line like Plagueis or even Snoke! hmmmm, reshoot!" GL is laughing at this one right now as we speak, "R1, haha! the Oceans 11 of SW"

 

I generally don't take Pablo Hidalgo's tweets seriously, because, you know, parody account and whatnot, but he's right in one point:

If people stress themselves out like this, they'll have an aneurysm, plus heart attacks and won't be able to see the truth on December when Rogue One comes out.

I see you've settled on Verbinski.. a decent choice. At least it wasn't the Wachowskis or McTiernan. I was kind of hoping you would have gone with Kosinski from that list you gave me about a year ago.

 

Kosinski is pretty good too, definitely got my eye on him.. I enjoyed Oblivion.

It sounds to me like Rogue One is too Saving Private Ryan-esque for Disney's tastes, and they want something closer to At World's End.. a darker movie compared to the others in it's franchise, but without being depressing. I think Verbinski got a great balance of family humour and grit with the Pirates of the Carribean trilogy, and he's dealt with Disney before so won't be pushed around like newer directors.
