When the first Rogue One Trailer dropped I said it had all the quality and charm of a made-for-TV special.

So i'm shocked I'll tell ya, absolutely shocked that the film didn't test well and Disney executives unanimously gave it a Nero thumbs down.

I'm sure they think they can make a few tweaks here and there and then they'll have another TESB on their hands - this is what they think.

These new films however have severe structural problems, they were built on very poor foundations.

Tinkering here and there ain't gonna cut it. They've got to start over from scratch. New actors, new story, new director. The whole enchilada.

I told you Gareth Edwards was a terrible choice Kathy, bring in Gore Verbinski for the reshoots!

I concur with the more constructive people here. All information we have is second-mouth information -- at best. I think it's silly to let something so rumour-y to impact your feelings this strongly.

As viewers, we do not have a lot to say about the production, filming or the editing of the movie, nor do we know what the producers or the director are talking about. Also, might I add, it is totally unproductive as we have no idea what the movie is like before we have seen it. Trashing, and panicking about, the film 6 month ahead of its release (during the post-production stage when it is still being worked on), is like worrying that you are not going to like the birthday cake that your mother is baking for your birthday. So, people. Give it a rest. Take a walk. Enjoy the fact that there is a new Star Wars movie coming this year, and judge Rogue One only when you have seen it in a theater.

And back to the topic. What I gathered is that if they complete the re-shooting on time, we would be getting something, a sneak peak perhaps, for Star Wars celebration, right? That sounds awesome! :D

I know nothing about how this works so to me the statement about how the re-shoots affecting the comic really doesn't make sense. The 3 issue series was supposed to be a prequel to R1 and introduce us to the characters. Probably a different story line leading up to R1. So again how would the re-shoots affect the movie? Unless they are changing characters and background possibly. Does this sound possible?

John Knoll and a member of the crew both confirmed that it's to add "something/someone special" to the movie so i would call it "pick up shoots" over "re-shoots" .

Yes, I know, but I'm asking about the mini series comic of R1. What do the re-shoots have to do with the comic being postponed or cancelled?

Money had certainly been spent on it. It would have been a big seller for the publisher. So why exactly was it that the Star Wars: Rogue One mini-series and one-shot comics from Marvel were cancelled months after being announced?

I’m told it’s all down to rewrites. Re-writes, reshoots, changes to the movie and no time of budget for a comic book creative team to keep reworking and reworking pages.

Shame. They didn’t really mind too much back in 1977…

Well that's what I'm saying...whoever "important" thing/person they're adding probably has a much bigger affect to the movie and they needed and wanted the comics to reflect that and didn't reflect the comics and there wasn't enough time to edit and redraw some crucial scenes for it so they ended up discarding it and maybe make another one down the line.

I was looking forward to the comic, now I suppose I'll just have to wait for the novel Catalyst.

Is that newly announced? And does it take place around R1 as well? It would be cool to release an adult book GoT style for this one.

re-shoots of movies arent bad but just the fact of some movies havent done well after reshoots. Just the fact to re-shoots is that there is something unsettle with the whole SW. Rogue 1 fix is prolly to add some SW saga. I wasnt hyped over the trailer and I understand why others feel its another side of SW rather than Jedi/Sith/Lightsaber/lightdark. I think to me that if they added a simple cut scene of vaders hand igniting he lightsaber I would be interested and invested in R1. adding the element of the saga will enhance views. Even that lil teaser trailer of the death star had me going cause of the sound bit and an image of the forecoming of Episode 4. I dont think its a major change but added scenes between the R1 story arc. So I think the second trailer will have Vader/Emperor/Royal Guard/Leia. They dont have to say nothing, just adding them to another R1 trailer would significantly improve it. Just give me Vaders lightsaber.

It's considered bad by people who don't necessarily know the terminology because the word "re" means to start over and/or fix any mistakes even though it literally means to add-to in movies...unless it's literally being used to attempt to fix a bad movie which is why I like the word "Pick-Up-Shots" better.

Well I dont want to make it seem its a bad fix. to say re-shoot and to hear rumors of how its not SW enough and the story arc of the film and characters are not up to par with ANH. They want the story to connect and to add "certain" characters in the fold. I dont like the rumors or ideas of adding Han Solo to R1. To see him before ANH would not fit R1. In ANH he's the one with Luke. having him with a Lando if any in R1 would not be right. Have him help the rebels then couple of days later help Luke. involve Leia/Vader/Emperor into R1 is their best solution to reshooting and helping the story in place. R1 would have to have a scene with Senator Organa mention Obi Wan to Leia. treepio and Artooie would factor in R1 with (vader) (anakin). Re-shooting R1 to me would be "adding to", like showing Erso and co trying to help princess Leia while she gets captured, Leia being told Obi Wan is the closest one to help, Vader having R2. I feel that if Disney comparing it to TFA would not help it as much cause its not the main movie saga. Disney needs to add these or certainty of characters to R1 to make it more SW.
