    "This is a rebellion isn't it?..................I revel!!"

I shudder at the thought that Disney feels that R1 doesn't feel like SW

    AND TFA does!

Are they gonna have Donnie Yen use a multicolored gymnastics ribbon instead of a staff?

Please don't screw this one up as well Disney.

If you didn't like TFA then Star Wars probably is going to be one disappointment after another. You should cut your losses.

I was searching other forums and found something interesting, apparently they felt the tone towards the ending of the film didn't match up with ANH's tone (given how close the two films are in the timeline) and they want to match the tones together. Of course this is pure speculation.

The only fix for what ails Rogue One and Episode 8 is to throw ever single frame in the trash, write an entirely new script and then bring back the only person in the universe who can actually make Star Wars: George Lucas.

Trying to create Star Wars without Lucas is like attempting to paint the Sisten Chapel without Michelangelo. It can't be done, period. Disney was arrogant like The Emperor for thinking otherwise.

Please. George Lucas thoroughly demonstrated through 3 insulting and nonsensical prequels that he has no clue how to make quality Star Wars films any more. The backlash towards those films should clue you in on this. This silly millennial-induced myth that Lucas is the only capable person to make Star Wars films needs to go away.

I think people have a certain expectation for the tone of Star Wars. People expect a story that is capable of drama, but is ultimately lighthearted. Not every story needs to have a fully happy ending: RotS didn't, ESB didn't. But I think when you have a franchise this established, people have an idea of what stares work in that franchise. A full war movie? Kelly's Heroes, maybe, but not Saving Private Ryan. I still shake my head in wonder that Deathtroopers was a thing; zombie apocalypse in Star Wars? I'm not sure that works.

if the "tone altering" is true, what did disney expect when at celebration last year they hyped RO as a war film and played radio chatter with people screaming like it was troops landing on Omaha?

It's probably over-hyped by media outlets wanting those sweet clicks. Yet if true, bizarre move IMO

"In the case of Rogue One, what I’ve heard is that they are not test-screening the film at all, nor do they have any plans to test screen the film. Everything that’s being done is being done because Lucasfilm and Disney screened the film internally, discussed it with Gareth Edwards, and then came up with a plan to figure out how to land every punch that the film means to throw. I hear that the film right now is good, but they want great. They don’t want to launch the Star Wars Story brand with a good film; they want to launch it with a film that is embraced warmly by fandom, a film that proves that you don’t have to tell the main Skywalker story to do something great in the larger Star Wars universe."

I knew the test screening info was false. They haven't screened TFA even to the critics, something that might change this time, but for the audience, in May? Not a chance.

i see all of this as good news for star wars fans.

re-shoots are normal. If we ever find out about executives not liking the end, or thinking it too violent etc etc... it will be long after we have seen the film and decided ourselves if we like it or not.

nothing to worry about there. headlines=clicks. shame but that is the world we live in now.

if everything that is being reported is true, then it is quite sad... but it also means that a Directors Cut is iminent and going to be awesome.

    Yep, I 100% agree.

Too many people are jumping on a worrying-wagon on here. The above comment makes way more sense.

I don't think that people understand that re-shoots are completely normal and are part of the editing process.

Rogue One is going to smash it and most of us will love it. If you don't agree, go kill some younglings.

Read a article once that described how Pixar was a successful production company.

They hired Directors that would allow their work to be scrutinized by peers. Listen to advice on how improvements can be made and left any ego at the door.

I see this as part of the process and can only improve the final product.

Apart from the click bait headline, there is nothing to see here
