    - That's flimsy at best. It's more like a fan coping mechanism than reality.

    - Yes. And that was a problem. It won't happen again because of it.

    - And it didn't resonate with a large portion of the fans. They will change things but won't go THAT far. It wasn't a bad idea but it just didn't work.

OT portrayed Anakin as a legendary jedi but instead we got a arrogant whiny brat who disobeyed, I just wanted to him to go away.

@Daft Ada that's rich, two dislike ratings. Care to explain?

The Clone Wars went a long way in helping that, but yes, it can be jarring to go from a pretty good Anakin characterization back to the "whiny" one once Ep. III starts. Anakin actually was pretty good in the first several scenes of Ep. III, but as soon as the Padme stuff starts, things go down hill. IMHO, at least.

Not true. But even if it were, then they are his films and the buck stops with him. The company is called Lucasfilm for a reason :)

There are more practical effects in the prequels than the original trilogy. And that's a fact :)
    --- Double Post Merged, Apr 9, 2017 ---
No. Obi-wan spoke of Anakin as a good friend and a great pilot who was seduced by the dark side of the Force. And Yoda described him as having "much anger" in him. That's pretty much all you get. The rest is your own preconception of the character before you saw the prequels. You can't blame a writer for not maing the character how you want him to be. Perhaps you'd have Anakin portrayed as some sort of uber hero? A man without flaws. Someone we can all admire and look up to. Yes, that would make his fall really believable wouldn't it?

As for the two dislikes, you'll have to be more specific. What did I dislike that has caused you to carry on so? "That's rich". Is it? In what way?

I don't recall the OT portraying Anakin as a "legendary Jedi".

I'm curious. I noticed that the majority of members who responded to the poll's question answered "no". So, why is this topic still being discussed?

Of course not, because despite the fanatic PT haters, many StarWars fans like and enjoyed the PT. There were parts I didn't like.

Honestly, the script of Ep. 7 makes me more angry than Ep. 1-3

Funny...thought the company was called Star Wars.

I fully agree with you there, and it's not even just the script but also the way it was produced visually and the general story. The PT was better in terms of creativity and world building while TFA feels more like a "fluff" piece to me in luring die hard OT fans back. Regardless, the PT is here to stay and it's canon so the detractors need to simply deal with it.

They probably meant about how he's referred to as some type of s legendary warrior from TCW aim ANH .

I don't recall such a thing. As Daft Ada had pointed out, Obi-Wan had never indicated that Anakin was a "legendary" Jedi and merely pointed out that Anakin was very strong with the Force, a cunning warrior, a talented pilot and a good friend. Daft Ada also pointed out that Yoda remembered Anakin as someone with a great deal of anger. And that's all I remember, as well.

Wel "legendary" is pretty relative imo. Being s cunning warrior and a talented pilot as well as a good friend seems pretty legendary to me. Of course, we saw this anger within him during the PT and the TCW with how he wasn't really good at dealing with negativity in his life but he was the biggest hero of TCW pretty much

I say No to erasing the prequels from canon. Sure the movies weren't perfect, but I still like all three. (Some of which more than others ;)) Even though there isn't as much prequel content in canon, other than TCW, some comics, a book, and the movies themselves, they are interconnected to the Star Wars lore.

It seems to be a very semantics based argument.

On top of all of that, it would be a waste of money erasing it

Proof that Lawrence Kasdan is overrated as hell without a creative Force behind him.

edit: I will make a thread about it.

Yeah, because a person agrees with your opinion. That is such a compelling piece of proof. And to be completely honest, the same thing can be said about George Lucas. Without a person who's not afraid to criticize his work we get this "fantastic" piece of writing.
This is all. This isn't even lazy - it's simply a flub. Compare it now to how Finn and Kylo's duel is described.
While creating a stage play or a film, blocking text i essential in the process of creating the movement of actors and the general look of the film. It helps the filmmaker to stay focus on what the scene is supposed to show and how he intends to achieve this goal - how will he direct the actors, compose shots and edit them into a cohesive and good-looking scene. How can you achieve any of this goals when you have no outline for actors, stunt doubles, DP, BG artists etc. on what are they supposed to do and we get a mess that is Yoda and Dooku's fight.

This is something that people who want a Prequel reboot don't understand. If you reboot the Prequels, you have to reboot a huge chunk of the new Canon material as well since the Prequels are fully integrated into it. Seriously, the new Canon books, comics and other bits of media are full of Prequel references. If there were a Prequel reboot, we would have to make retcons all over the place and basically blow up the Canon all over again. This would be a bad thing for a multitude of reasons and would confuse and shake consumer and fan trust in the Star Wars brand in a major way. It would be terrible business. The executives at Disney and LucasFilm are aware of how bad an idea a Prequel reboot would be as well, they aren't stupid when it comes to business.
