IDK if she has been brought up yet or not, but doesn't Aurra Sing carry Lightsabers of Jedi bounties on her back in TPM?

She has also used a Lightsaber in the Legends comic books as well right? Correct me if I am wrong.

    She does \m/

According to the Legends comic "Republic" she is a former Jedi and knows how to wield a lightsaber quite well.

no problem, a lot of EU makes sense and regardless of Disney's claims I still enjoy referencing it to glimpse into familiar characters in the TV shows and the movies. I think it's totally up to the viewer to discern what is a part of the canon and what's not, after all it's a fantasy world and it's you who's doing all the imagining.

I still consider it to be apart of Star Wars IMO. I just only know a little of this and a little of that when it comes to the EU. So reference away when your talking to me. Knowledge is power and I do want to know about it \m/

Haha, cool. I can't claim to have expert knowledge of all the EU as some of the more "dedicated fans are" but having read most of the adult novels and a bunch of comics I can say I have a solid idea of the EU. For instance, I'm sharing a torrent of my personal SW e-book collection and I've done all the organizing and numbering into a proper timeline.

I have red a few of the books, I probably should start reading Disney's canon as the books come out. Would probably make it easier to keep up with the new books and canon. But I procrastinate when it comes to that sometimes lol.

I do however intend to follow as much of the "Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens" as I possibly can \m/

I did a few reviews in the Books & Comics sections of the Tarkin and The Lords Of the Sith novels. So far these books aren't up to the standard of writing I'd like to see form Disney, but it's understandable they're rushing things forward to satiate hungry fans before the movie releases. It took years to accumulate some of the best EU novels.

In the beginning I was very intimidated with the sheer volume of the books SW had out there. However, it shouldn't stop you from checking it out. I can tell you some of the books already out will be very hard to match in quality. And it will only make the reading more interesting, you can image "what the SW could have been" if Disney never bought Lucasfilm.

The EU may not be canon, but it is still a part of STar Wars... and its not irrelevent.

They are strip mining the EU, almost every book and comic has brought an element from the EU into the canon.

I think I'm going to miss the new generation of heroes from EU the most, I mean Leia's and Han's children!

You can keep them if you like it. Canon or not is quite irrelevant. Not a little bit exited to get a whole new "EU".

I care about how much they are used rather than who exactly used them. I've no problem with non-jedi's using them personally, I don't perceive them to be brandished by every tom, dick and harry.

I would think especially for the many casual fans, the one way one would easily dumb down the galaxy for an audience would be to only have Jedi and Sith wield sabers (or at a maximum force sensitives) which as far as I recall has been the case so far. It is a very simple way to differentiate the characters and an audience can know 'blast can get real' so to speak when these are carried by the few.

Secondly quick reminder that Serkis said that Snoke 'prefers to carry a light sabre.' Make of that what you will. :)

Sith lord? Or a random with a lightsaber?
