Gee, I don't want to drag this further off topic either, but I'll close by saying you didn't respond to a single fact I laid out, most of which reside in the real world (like boxoffice and sales and Google searches not to mention Galaxy's Edge bombing). Rotten Tomatoes audience scores track well with the public and fandom. Losing millions of viewers is a loss even if you throw a reward at a show. I guess we'll find out in December, but really, this thread wouldn't exist if all was well in Star Wars Land, we'd be discussing RJ's trilogy, not D&D. Why were they brought in anyway? Oh yeah, lots and lots of people hated TLJ and its BO dropped off precipitously after the first week.....

Can't people just and see how Galaxy Edge performs next summer before calling it a failure? You know when the park is 100% operational and actually has a full summer instead of a quarter of a summer and no hurricane threatening it on opening day.

Sorry, I didn't want to indulge this off topic speculation further. It's been beaten to death in other threads if you're interested in that sort of thing.
It was my understanding that the Benioff and Weiss/Lucasfilm were in discussions long before The Last Jedi was released. Rian Johnson has even mentioned them as friends. The idea that they were brought on as a response to a film isn't supported by the timeline.

I don't see any compelling reason to believe anything that comes from them or RJ speaking for them or anything else. From the moment they finally admitted to tossing Lucas's story (after suckering me into the movie theater) I stopped trusting them.

As for D&D, I didn't like GOT or the books it was based on (although GRRM has written some things I do like) but I'm 100% for D&D. Looks like the powers that be have flinched yet again. Maybe not, but it's been several months since we've heard anything definite. But D&D reached out to Lucas and it looks like they've spent some serious time with him, so I'm open to seeing what they come up with.

Galaxy's Edge tanked. Next year isn't this year. In the present, it's a failure. Maybe ROS will outgross Endgame, The Mandalorian will be the next GOT and Galaxy's Edge will the most popular vacation destination summer 2020. And maybe I'll inherit a billion dollars out of nowhere. For now, the park is a bomb and I'm not rich.

    MOD EDIT
