SPECULATION Since the trailer/leaks are you more excited or less excited about TLJ?

Actually I read it wrong, but I'm pretty excited. And can't wait myself.

 

I'm much more excited than ever, I think I wasn't so excited to watch a movie since ROTS in 2005. The fact is that I really liked TFA, and the new characters as well. For the first time I feel like a new big saga is about to start, and we are watching it grow up. Last time I felt like this was when The Lord of the Rings came out.

 

There is no actual difference, everything is playing out more or less the way I expected it to - something fresh, intriguing, new. This isn't me saying I'm not excited - TLJ has been my most awaited film since TFA's premiere and I cannot wait to see it. What Ieanis that so far it is meeting my sky-high expectations.

 

More excited, partly because I think the teaser is misdirecting us regarding Luke and the Jedi.

 

I had to say less. I loved TFA. The end of the Jedi comment has me unsettled. I think it likely has a twist but the idea that they might separate from one of the core elements of SW bothers me.

 

I'm excited to hear what more Luke has to say in Rey's training, the less is that Luke might be considering about the jedi coming to a end.

 

I don't think they will. For all the talk of grey jedi, and the mortis family etc., these are things only the core fans know about, while the entire audience is much bigger and associates Star Wars, and Luke in particular, with the Jedi. They won't deviate from this. The trailer for them will suggest that maybe he has gone rogue or something, but the film itself will most likely be about him arriving back in the galaxy as the incredibly powerful Jedi that we all want to see.

 

I have learned through years and years of Sequels to keep an even keel throughout the lead up to a franchise movie. I don't get too hyped on a great trailer or too down on a so-so trailer. The movie will never live up to your expectations but that doesn't mean it still can't be a great movie. What I'm saying is I never thought TFA would be as great as ESB, but I still love the movie because I never put it on that pedestal to begin with.

 

I'm less excited. I really don't want Finn to fight with the Resistance. I'd prefer he stay his own man, and do his own thing. Assist the Resistance, but not be apart of them. It seems like he will never get that chance to make those kind of decisions. His story it seems is work with them or none at all, and I disagree with that. If there is turmoil within the Resistance itself then why should a person who defected from the FO be so trusting to help the other side? He should go his own way, and get his own squad.

 

I hear you Lando didn't need Imperial problems getting worse. He should have just stayed at his nice mining job.

Han had good thing going running the spice sure a death mark but he talk his way out right. But no poor guy got stuck with a snot nosed punk when he should have been getting Jabba his money or chilling some place.


Too bad Finn didn't run off to the outer rim with the crimson corsair and his pudgy friend.

If Finn is fighting with the Resistance good. They appear to be the good guys. They are working against a horrendously evil force. Why should he look for a new squad?

 

The teaser made me less excited but the recent leaks are getting me pumped up again

 

Because he doesn't know them. If they are having conflict within then that came before him, and since he is an outsider it would be best to stay outside and figure things out before joining.

 

Come on. The 1st Order ordered him to murder a village. He thought of running. Then he saw the SKB destroy multiple worlds. There reach is beyond running from for him or anyone. Joining the only group standing against the 1st Order seems a good choice.

Also you may see him hesitant as it has been said Finn still has a choice to make.

 

Excited. The only thing that I am a little worried about are the rumors about the Porgs...they look like penguins, cute penguins. Will they become the new Ewoks? Hope not.

 

It all depends on what that means. Everyone has an agenda and we'll see how Dern's character plays out in all of this. We'll see if it's just a little bump in the road or real differences of opinion with actual consequences. I think Finn can do a lot of damage. Provided he is not bogged down in others politics.

 

Far less excited. That said, it will be interesting to see how they handle this "Last Jedi" concept. Will it be a literal thing, a metaphorical thing, a semantics thing? Also how will "Balance" play into it. That could have interesting wrinkles for the Franchise beyond this Episode and this trilogy.
