No problem! I love sharing Star Wars with others! I never thought about a side kick but more of a creature walking around shore looking for a quick meal in the tide pools lol. This story arc already has enough sidekicks and we certainly do not need another Jar Jar lol. Lucas would be roll'n in his pig pen lol!

His pig pen full of money? haha No, but I think a companion would work for Luke Maybe something that would be hostile, but he has to continue to mind trick it into being of help? haha We all know how serious Luke is and a little (and I stress little) comic relief would be beneficial during their stay on Skellig.

Anyone who has been to County Kerry would know that it's not really of this Earth. ;)

Well. We have Endor which was shot in the California Redwood forest and unaltered in post production. I imagine Takodana would fall under this category. We have Tatooine, shot in Tunisia and more times than not was unaltered in post production and worked just fine to take us out of earthly universe. Jakku falls under this category. We have Hoth. Same process, shot in Norway. Starkiller base could fall under the same category. It was presented as a basic earthy, snowy, mountainous, forested planet. I don't see Skellig as being any different. How far will you allow your imagination to travel? The star wars universe does NOT work without imagination. It's not going to do ALL of the work for you which is the beauty of it because star wars enhances the imagination. Imagination is much more powerful than what is presented in front of your eyes.

You missed the point I was making. All of those places has other details that made it alien like, but like others said on this post, we haven't seen much of the island. I just think Brith would have really added some alien ambience without being too much of a distraction. I was just disappointed in the sets in TFA overall. Not very detailed or Star Wars like besides some of the aliens. Especially after all the cool worlds Lucas exposed in Ep 3 and others that we still haven't seen besides in video games like Corellia. TFA featured Han Solo and we STILL don't get Corellia?

I see your point. We are still two episodes out from the end of this trilogy and under different directors at that. Don't get me wrong here, I do hope we will indeed will see more foreign, unearthly landscape and terrain. However I don't think they will stray too far from what us humans on earth can relate to so keep your imagination upfront and handy.

I gave you a great post though I won't be able to hide my disappointment if they continue to ignore the prequels good qualities. Like introducing new or EU elements to the now Disney franchise. I agree with what Lucas and even less biased genius, James Cameron said about TFA. It was fan service with good characters AND thank goodness we have good characters or this franchise would be toast after that unimaginative mix tape IMO.
