Sure the Jedi. But there's this tiny group of forceusers that are mentioned every now an then called the Sith who were pretty much all about being the most powerful of the bunch. Keep in mind how I wrote "forceusers" in my simple explaination...

So you don't think Mace Windu could have done that? What about Yoda or Obi-Wan or Anakin, or Palpatine or Maul? Of course they could do it. Lifting rocks isn't special. Did you miss the little joke of Luke saying it's not about lifting rocks and then she has to lift rocks? The Jedi don't value lifting some rocks and they could all have done that.

None of them has shown to be able to do telekinesis to the degree Rey did and this is what you have to explain. Maybe Maul could crush a whole planet with his forceability but we never saw him do it so we should focus on what is shown in the movies, books and comics shall we? The question is simple.

WHY. DID. NOONE. ELSE. IN. CANON. DO. IT?!

I can't make it any simpler for you I'm sorry.

Because THEY DIDN'T NEED TO FOR THE STORY THEY WERE TELLING!!!!!!!!! It doesn't make her more powerful.

Let's look at all of the force powers we haven't seen Rey display...apparently she sucks because we've seen others do this stuff

    Force Push
    Force Jump
    Force Speed
    Deflect Laser blasts
    Force Choke
    Force Stasis (freeze)
Force Crush (like Vader in ROTS)
    Force Projection (like Luke)
Force Sight (seeing/fighting while blind) <---how does Chirrut Imwe do this...hmmmm?

I'm sorry Rian Johnson chose to have so many rocks that it made you think she's more powerful than others. You're going to have to get past it and understand that your interpretation of Rey's powers are not what the story tellers intended.

Also.....what were those rocks made of?

What is the mineral composite of Crait boulders vs. Geonosis cavern roof? Was the roof constructed using dense duracrete or are they completely natural? Did the bugs make them from saliva? Are the Crait boulders just salt deposits?

When does the rabbit come out of its hole and strangle all of us with a smile on its face?

It's not about the things she doesn't use ffs but that she is a master or above master level in every force ability we see her use. Man I replaced the forcepowers with X to show you what I mean how can you not understand this. I mean really what part of "she is better at doing X than anyone else doing X before her" don't you understand. You are constantly trying to tell em that we haven't seen her do this and do that and how she got bested at fighting vs Luke, etc. It doesn't matter. What does matter is that she learns faster than anyone else and mastered a forceability to a degree noone before her did. That is the freakign problem. Stop beating around the bush.

Yes, they are salt. There's even some creepy resistance dude licking it pointing out it's salt. Salt has a density of 2,175t/m3. This means it's only marginally lighter than granite 2,725t/m3 which is known to be a very heavy type of rock (damnit Marie they're not rocks! They're minerals!) So basically lifts hundreds of tons of salt while Yoda can barely lift a 5t X-wing. And that's exactly why she is op.

The other thing people need to understand is that the heroes in the more recently made films are given cooler powers and their abilities advanced - so it looks better.

Just watch ANH. Kenobi vs Vader, although iconic (and I love it), is like watching two geriatrics fight over a Werther’s Original. It was upped for Empire and then more so for ROTJ. Then it went bananas for the PT. Now whether it makes sense or not in the ST for Rey and Ren to do cool stuff is irrelevant. It’s about it being visually captivating and exciting.

Dude, I'm done. You got a hang up that is unhealthy. She hasn't mastered jack. She tricked one Storm Trooper after trying twice and could life some rocks after spending time on a force filled Island with Luke Freaking Skywalker.

Yoda was a year from death and flew an X-Wing with his mind. Something he expected Luke to be able to do, but couldn't because he didn't believe he could.

I enjoy the movies and have no unhealthy hang ups about force strength that ruins Rey's character for me. So I think it might be you that doesn't get it.

Let's see how much her power keeps growing in the future and at what point her abilities become ridiculous. We had Starkiller pull down a complete Star Destroyer in The Force unleashed. It is legacy now but we are getting there again. Cooler, bigger, faster. F*ck the Canon, we are not done with this until SW looks like Naruto.

Another possibility here is that the PT Jedi restrained their pupils. This was of course a complaint by Anakin. That was more about using the dark side but perhaps the disciplined training meant that the Jedi were stopped from learning too much too soon?

Rey had no teacher no rules. She just discovered the Force and had her raw strength. And because she believed it more than Anakin and Luke - and had the connection with Ren - this raw strength enabled her to advance to greater power than anyone did in the past (that we witnessed).

By as we know, that doesn’t make her a great Jedi. It makes her dangerous. She needs to learn how to control her power else she will fall to the Dark Side. But the point is, no one has really ever held Rey back. The Force awoke (from dormancy suggesting an eruption of power) and Rey was flooded with this power. With no teacher she just uses her raw strength. In the past the Jedi heroes were either guided after being shown their power or just didn’t believe it enough. The PT Jedi were trained from birth.

But this is rationale thinking....that will not sway people that love to hate anything they don't understand.

That is speculation. But sure, whatever makes your argument seem reasonble. I strongly encourage you to google what people think of Rey's powers if your fanboyism alows it.

Also, let's be honest, the Jedi sucked at their jobs. Listen to Luke, you must.

I could care less what "the internet" thinks of Rey. I come to these forums for smart discussion and to expand my understanding of this myth, not to bash everything I don't like.

The Jedi made mistakes. They failed. But Yoda says something quite important about that in TLJ...

Considered and rejected. I disagree with your issues with Rey. Not a big deal.
