    I posted this on the tv spots thread about the Sunsucker:

    Seems like what a "Sunsucker" weapon would do. Reminds me of videos where black holes are sucking suns like on Nova.

    Anyway, I got to thinking about Snoke, darkness, and The Dark Side. It seems that if there is a Sunsucker, Snoke would have commissioned or at least known of the device. Why would Snoke want to destroy the suns? To deplete light? To harness its power?

    Then the Snoke=Plagueis wheels started turning. Based on my current understanding of Plagueis.

    Plagueis has not been seen ever(unless the magazine is correct).

    Plagueis can create light.


    Is it possible that Plagueis(Snoke) can create light, but is "strangely vulnerable" to it at the same time? Is he sensitive to physical light, causing disfigurement? Has he been in darkness his whole existence? It makes sense considering the mystery and darkness surrounding Snoke and Plagueis. Add the idea of sucking suns(light).

    Kylo now says in the new Chinese trailer..."show them the power of the darkness". Show them by removing light? Is the Dark Side's lure that it can turn the universe dark while harnessing the light? Dark>light?

    I feel like I am on the brink of something. Anyone with better knowledge care to add to or elaborate on this idea?

    I think you are onto something.
    Not sure about how the light affects our villains, though.
    That could verge on vampirism. If not handled properly. We'll see...
    But i do believe that vanquishing the light will be seen as both a literal and symbolic act in the film.

    do you thikn... that the dark side of the force, adn the light side... are literally actually lightness and darkness inthe physical sense?

    I would say it is far more likely that he is absorbing the energy of stars to keep himself alive or restore his youth, a sprinkling of 40k emperor and King Piccolo.

    Without Rey there would be darkness. She is the balance, I guess, maybe because if he can turn her then it would be dark and clouded.

    As I've said in the dialogue thread, when Kylo says"“Together we will destroy the Resistance and the last Jedi.” that he is talking to a captured Rey similar to when Vader told Luke to join him and they could rule the galaxy.

    Nomi Sunrider was a peasant from a desert planet who led the Jedi to stop a turned to the darkside Exar Kun a relic hunter who awoke an ancient dark side spirit. Maybe this is the pieces of the EU they are referencing.

    That's curious (I'm not much aware of these tales of the ancient)! Also considering the similarities to another Star Wars comic book series. Maybe that's the true reason for turning EU into Legends; to mine the EU for stuff as they please without worrying avout anything

    wondering how much of "dark side" there is in the thinking of that technology.. to me there are two evils in starwars; those who seek control and authority on others ( empire ) and those who seeks ultimate power and destruction9 Siths).. They tend to work hand in hand but their agendas diverge.. while the Empire would be comtempted by domination, Siths would like go further, maybe to the point of destroying .. light/life... The dark side up to this point is more like a black hole thing while the light side is life.. so I really wonder if the new empire order really realise what they are toying with...
