It sounds to me like the darker evil theme will probably be "March of the First Order" and will hearken to the Imperial march.
The Force Theme will obviously play throughout in different tracks
obivously we will see a "Rey's Theme" and or "Finn's Theme"
I think the last track will be called "The Force is strong in my Family and End Credits"

hahaha....As John Williams clearly has to write the Music for the Star Wars Film. But Lets say he dies in February...Oh no who will score VIII and IX?
Well I have been listening to the Jurassic World ST and have to say Michael Giacchino would make a great Star Wars composer... He is doing a wonderful Job using John Williams themes and copying enough of the sound with keeping his own style.

I've always felt Giacchino would be a terrific replacement, if need be.

IDK About you but this feels like John Williams through and through.... yes you can tell its Giacchino but its Got that John Williams feel to it and the way is bleeds through into the original music is seemless

Just listened to the whole score. I don't know. Some good parts, some OK parts. It always takes me a few listens to fully grasp a new score though.

If you want to see Giacchino imitating Williams, listen to this track from the climax of Up. The scene is an homage to the death star attack, so he puts the Williams influence to good work.

Was just reading this. Sounds interesting, especially this:
There is also a piece mentioned by multiple sources that is described as a cantilena, an operatic piece, with sustained lyrics dragged out over the melody. This piece is described as one of the most beautiful and emotional pieces of music John Williams have ever written for a Star Wars film and appears to be tied to the snow planet.

Not dying but disappointed if we get too much Han Solo and Princess Leia and only a little glimpse of Luke.
Sure it's nice to see Han and Leia again for nostalgia sake, but theirs story is told, they should take a minor guest role.
Luke Skywalker should get the most screen time of these three characters.
Harrison Ford's stardom aside it should not be vital to Star Wars, because Star Wars is bigger as Ford.
Even if Luke is a hermit and the story only works with him in the hiding, he should get the proper spotlight.
In my opinion he is essential and the most important character of the OT.

Edit: If Mark Hamill is only in one scene to save the day, it should be better the best scene about saving the day ever made.
Lets go back to the Music, John Williams will do a great job without a doubt.

How long before the soundtrack leaks? Or how long before we get interpretations like the above fan made one?

i think it might be quite a few months before that happens i dont think they have even finnished recording let alone sequence it into an album in order for it to leak. my guess is we will probably get hints at track titles in a few months or maybe even a leaked tracklist but thats quite abit away form now

A very long time. They have to record it first. Then they have to distribute it, that's when the leaks happen.

New LATimes interview with horn player from L.A. Philharmonic: http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/arts/la-et-cm-french-horns-20150804-story.html#page=1

    Here's the TFA portion:

Andrew Bain has served as the principal horn for the L.A. Philharmonic for the past four years, and even he continues to do studio work. He is currently working on "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," which will be released in December and features a score by John Williams.

"It's one of the absolute highlights of my career," the horn player said, adding that the soundtrack is being recorded in L.A. over a number of weeks. "It's amazing how new and fresh John's music is, but it's also distinctively 'Star Wars.' "

Williams' music for the "Star Wars" movies has made extensive use of the French horn, with memorable solos in each of the previous installments. "A lot of the character development is in the horn writing," said Bain.

The new "Star Wars" is the first movie in the series to be scored in L.A., according to the American Federation of Musicians, the union that represents professional musicians. Past "Star Wars" movies have been scored in London.

Hey everyone! so i was skulking around on the internet trying to get some leaks or info on the score, and i managed to get in contact with someone who CLAIMS to be part of the score editing and mixing department and he sent me 2 audio files that he says he recorded with his laptop secretly. honestly i am not sure sure i buy all of this but i listened to the files and they sound kinda legit there are a few things that make me wonder but hey if he is talking the truth, i don't want to be the one who keeps the first score leaks all for himself so would you guys like to hear them?

Let's hear em... if DISNEY/LFL have them taken down quick, then you'll know they are legit. If they don't, then maybe we'll have some cool Star Wars-ish cues to chew on to pass the time with...

Interesting. As a ""Williams connoisseur"" I could determine for you whether or not the files are Williams' music, should this not be some kind of elaborate prank on you or your source's end.
