I think it must be, for the following reasons:
    1. A lot of his trademark moves are present
    2. At the same time as #1 there are elements that feel new and fresh (William's is great at staying up with the times while remaining true to his style)
    3. The most obvious, simplest, and cheapest move for this commercial would have been to use the Imperial March, but they didn't
    4. The best reason not to do #3 is you've got something better, or more appropriate... which would be new music from TFA
    5. (EDIT) The track starts with the beginning of the commercial, but gets awkwardly chopped at the end. That tells me this track was not written for the commercial. So if it's not identifiable from any other previous composition, and it wasn't written for the commercial, there's really only one possibility, right?

I think I read somewhere that they weren't actually recording the film score until October...

    EDIT: Yep, here it is:

"Now reunited with both phone and footwear, sitting comfortably in the departure lounge, Abrams has come to the end of his brief getaway. The film is deep into post and, with a fleeting stop in New York for the Mission:Impossible - Rogue Nation premiere, he'll soon be back in the edit room, finalising visual effects and prepping for October's scoring sessions."

This also calls into question some of the ideas of previous pieces, like the Korean TV spot or the instagram teaser being pieces from the movie.

You shouldn't. you had good points and many fell for them. that artist meshed up a lot of Williams signature moves its an official merchandize stunt and so on, but I had to check it.
Its really well exectuted. And the song it quite nice to listen to, I even get some Indiana Jones vibes.

To me the music lacked the quality of Williams, it somewhat sounded like a mix of E.T and epi 3.

I also agree that if the Luke theme is at the end, that indeed is where we will first see him.

In the first trailer for TFA where the screen is blank just for a millisecond after the words, ". . . and the light," are spoken, the Millenium Falcon swoops in to the triumphant strains of the main theme song. I literally whooped, Which is something I 'm not known to do much of IRL. That was an absolutely brilliant edit & use of the music. And that was just to introduce a ship.

So I just can't imagine NOT having Luke's theme song accent his first appearance in 30 long years of waiting! If that's true, we probably won't see him until the end, but who knows how long that segment will be, and where it will lead in the next movie? So I'm staying positive on that score.

Now, regarding the three different strains of the same song, I do think they might be for Han, Rey and Kylo. For one thing, Han doesn't have a theme IIRC, (except for the one with Leia which I also hope we hear.) If these three are related it would emphasize the family connection now and for the next three movies, which is just brilliant. Alternatively, all three may be for Rey or Finn. Certainly, they will be going through changes and many ups & downs; to reflect that in the music would likewise be brilliant.
