RUMOR Teaser 2 Discussion Thread - Date Confirmed by Collider?

I think the new trailer with include a precis of the Saga so far. This will not only catch the attention of casual movie-goers, but also provide a context for what is shown next. I agree with the idea of more Skeris VO, I think that would be cool:

You know, that would be cool to see actually. Anyone care to mock that intro up for me? I would be grateful enough to reveal my middle name for you....

 

I predicted this for the first teaser and it didn't come true but it might for the actual trailer - that we might get a glimpse of the original cast but only see the back of them, kinda like how we see Kylo Ren in the teaser. I can just picture Han and Chewie walking down the ramp of the Millennium Falcon but kinda shot from behind them. Basically just enough to drive the fans nuts.

 

Ok since all the cool kids are doing it I will give it a shot

We will get a new Williams theme for this one, think dark and brooding but not quite Emperor's throne room. It calls forth feelings of darkness just over the horizon

Serkis- "You've failed Skywalker, There's been an awakening"

half-hooded visage of crazy eyed Luke starting in horror at something.

Serkis- "everything you've worked so hard for"

Leia in a senate chamber, frowning

Serkis- "The sacrifices you have made"

Han and Chewie running towards the Falcon

Serkis- "Have been for nothing"

Music has been building up to this point and suddenly crescendos into a dark battle theme, think somewhere close to Duel of the Fates

Space battles with X-Wings and TIE Fighters, perhaps intercut with shots of Isaac in the cockpit

Rey and Finn getting shot at as they duck for cover

Random scene with R2 and/or BB-8 squealing

Kylo Ren's mask shown for the first time (I like the reflecting fire idea)

Rey looking frightened as you hear a lightsaber ignite, she ignites her own and it is blue.

Star Wars theme plays as Main Title shown

 

Hey, it could also maybe just be Abrams in the shower whistling the Force Theme and then at the end of the trailer he wipes his fogged glasses and then says "Uh..Summer Release"

Cue fans going ape$hit..

EDIT: I'm not in the church of Force Awakens summer release, but still. Abrams will probably give us a tease (sans bathroom) that will blow out minds.

 

I really like this, and I share your beliefs as well, especially because I believe Andy Serkis' character will play a key role to whatever occurs in TFA.

lol, I'm not as creative as you guys but I do believe the second trailer's gonna show more of the older cast and maybe even more of the enemy the heroes face in the movie although I don't think we would get to actually see Serkis' character yet so maybe another voiceover is possible. lol btw I know you guys heard the lightsaber ignite in the dying seconds of the 1st trailer. is it Luke's?? who knows loll.

 

The first trailer showed images and "scenes" of stuff that had been somewhat leaked (Rey's speeder, BB-8, Falcon, Stormtrooper, X-Wing, etc.) prior to that release. It was almost as if they were just showing us things we already "knew" a little bit about.

If this next one follows suit, it will show new footage, but of new stuff we've learned/seen of recently, or since the last trailer. Perhaps full view of Kylo Ren, Finn and Poe in the TIE, burning of the village, wagon towing X-Wing, etc.

Maybe we should think along those lines?

 

I think we will get shots of the old crew mixed with the new. But what it entails depends on if its a Trailer or another teaser.

So what I think we will see:

We will hear a good guy voice. Luke, Han, Leia or "Rose"

Open shot R2 and C3PO
Cut to Rey, Finn and Poe BB8 approaching the Falcon.
Our first shot of Han and Chewie.
Next a shot of Dom Gleeson on Star destroyer
Then Leia with lightsaber on her hip or in her hand.(She has to have one right? Right? Please...)
Then Han Chewie and Leia
A series of action shots including xwing fighting with Poe and maybe Christie with lightsaber
Shot of Rey igniting her blade
Cut to Finn lighting his blade
Cut to Kylo Ren with Mask shown lighting his blade.
Fear/pain on Rey and/or Finn face with Red blade in the picture
Cut to black Serkis speaks
Luke with Green lightsaber.
Title!

 

So the first teaser was to introduce a few of the new characters.

I think the next one will be something like this
Ominous music similar to the scene in ROTS where Anakin sits in the Jedi Council chambers and Padme and him cry
SERKIS VO: You know what you face.
Cut to Rey looking with worry at something in the distance (perhaps this is a shot preceding the one we see in the trailer)
SERKIS VO: Now is the time.
Cut to Han and Chewie arriving on a planet (similar to the arrival in Cloud City)
SERKIS VO: You must choose between the dark side and the light
LUKE FROM ROTJ: I am a jedi, like my father before me.
Cut to Luke's lightsaber in a gloved hand. It ignites.
Cue title music and "STAR WARS" typography

What if there is a scene in the 1st Trailer that directly contradicts something in the MSW "call sheet" stuff. That would be wild.

I can imagine they showing us space ships and new planets, along with some characters we didn't see in the first teaser. But at the end of the trailer we see a silhouette of a person we know for a long time and he ignites his lightsaber and the camera cuts to his face and TAN DAN, Luke Skywalker.

 

Hopefully we see Luke...to reel in all the old timers who might not be following this movie that close.

 

A "Kylo Ren" esque shot of a hooded figure clearly igniting the Luke ROTJ saber would put a giant crack in the SW section of the internet.

 

I think it will be similar to the first teaser only it will have Luke, Han, Leia, Chewie and MvS Interacting with the new 3. The Falcon again. And some different bad guys

MvS speaking to Rey. Maybe telling a story

New music swells. A shot of escape aboard the Falcon.

Leia and Han together bickering while Rey, Finn and Poe look on trying not to laugh

BB-8 and C-3PO

A cantina scene

Chewie working on the Falcon

A new ship maybe a destroyer showing GC or Kylo

A castle

Luke pulling down his hood

 

I really don't want to speculate, because it can go a thousand different ways. What would concern me though, is if Luke and Leia are not in the trailer (which means that they have such small screen time, it would ruin the film to have them in the trailer).

 

My dream TEASER trailer would be the force theme playing on a black screen and we fade in to the twin suns and we see a hooded figure standing exactly where Luke stood in Ep. 4 when the force theme plays and he stares off in the distance towards the twin suns and the figure takes off the hood and it is an old Luke and then the Star Wars: The Force Awakens logo comes up. (Only about 30 seconds) IMAGINE THE GOOSEBUMPS!!

I Think the 1st Official Trailer will follow the Line of the First Teaser, with the SERKIS VO and with the Song of ROTJ -

1 - Serkis VO as the ONLY lines spelling on the trailer, but not to much as people here think, i think will be only 3 or 4 short lines including the 2 we've seen in the Teaser - nothing like "you've failed skywalker" or stuff that can reveal to much about the plot - but ONLY lines with very clouded meanings that we don't understand until we actually see the movie - LESS IS MORE PEOPLE!

2- I Think the Trailer will be a "Musical Trailer" that combines some classic star wars song as Asteroid Field, Rebel Fleet, Star Wars Theme, Tie Fighter Battle Scene, Force Theme, Yoda Theme - Whatever

3 - ALL the scenes will be like the Teaser Scenes - Everyone in a Rush!!!! A TRENCH RUN RUSH TRAILER with 2 and a half minutes long - With the Music making the emotional Tone, just like every Star Wars movie - The things will be show enough time to Hype the Movie, but not enough to reaveal what it's happening - JUST LIKE the teaser - But in a MUCH bigger amount and NOT much "cut to black" scenes

4- I think there will be a fast scene with Luke Opening his Eyes in a dark room with a weak light at this face - OR a scene with the Green Lightsaber but WITHOUT showing luke's face (with a fight or not)

5 -The final scene of the Trailer will be the classic "Jump-to-Hyper-Space Star-Strech-Effect" - Inside the Millenium Falcon ---------- And then jumps to LOGO TYPE Star Wars - The force Awakens ------------- and then jumps to ----- "coming to your galaxy next winter" / "december 18"

I like it. This thread might be my favorite thread on the Cantina. Everyone is so clever and lays out their vision step-by-step. I love it!
