I would, if I were you. If nothing else, simply because of creator’s intent: Rian Johnson has reiterated time and time again that it might be best to avoid stuff if you want to get the most out of the film. I think that there’s a good chance that this could be a game-changing film, but I suppose it depends on your own preferences.

I followed the RO leaks pretty closely, still had no idea Vader’s scene at the film’s end, and was absolutely blown away. Would you want to know if Luke did something like that beforehand, or who Rey’s parents are, etc.? Again, personal preferences and all that; for me, the answer is a very firm no: I want to avoid that stuff.

There’s over a full week between the Japanese premiere and general release. I’d go dark either on the 6th (Japanese premiere) or the 8th (world premiere); my personal plan is to avoid stuff from the 6th until the 8th, only watching the world premiere on the 8th to see the cast and director one more time before I see the film.

I'm not quite sure what the Japanese event is supposed to be. I think they're going to show fragments if anything.

I really hope those who see the movie at the premiere will keep their mouth shut.
I dont care if they tell us the movie had some unexpected twists or that it is great, just dont tell us Luke did this, Kylo does this, Rey's parents are XYZ...

From everything that has been said, and what with it being a premiere, it seems that the film will certainly be shown.

From SWNN: Japan is getting its own premiere for Star Wars: The Last Jedi a whole nine days before the film opens in most markets. This will also be two full days ahead of the World Premiere in Los Angeles, California (even though it’s being shown in Japan before then, oddly enough).

A fan from Tumblr by the name of Sleemo took notice of a particular promotion – one which indicated that the Japanese Red Carpet for the film will arrive before the official World Premiere: “The article also says that those in Japan can sign up for a chance to win tickets to the red carpet event (10 pairs of tickets up for grabs), plus a special screening of the film later that evening (5 pairs of tickets available).”

I will be attending the premiere of TLJ, much like TFA. To get personal, it is kind of ironic that I will be seeing TLJ on opening night. When TFA came out I was about to graduate from college and with TLJ I just started a new job. How ironic how SWs coincides with life-changing events for me. But I digress.

For me, that week will be me rewatching all the prior films with TFA being reserved on that same day TLJ comes out. Which works for me given how A) I want to watch TFA and have knowledge of that movie to a T and then go into TLJ and B) Because I have only seen that movie a handful of times and what better time when its sequel came out.

So yeah, what I will be doing is arguably nothing special and I apologize for sounding egotistical, but a new SWs movie is coming out that is the ST.

You got to love the M25 as I have had a few horrors on it the big one being Had a 2PM showing of 300 Boyd & on a good day I can do the journey in 45-60 Mins but I like to make a day of a bluewater showing so left at 10am unfortunately there had been a accident that closed the motorway so after the diversions I arrived at Bluewater at about 1.15 so it was a quick snack not the planed meal then after the film because it was still closed I had to go the long way round so that's pass Heathrow (another fantastic bit of road) & eventually got home about 7PM.

Any way back to TLJ again have a afternoon showing so will leave early because the place is going to be heaving & try & get something to eat then trip to Waterstones to pick up the Visual Guide & Art of Book or Cross Section One depending what available. (yes I know getting the books before the film risks being accidentally spoiled but there isn't going to be time after the film as it probably going to take at least 60Mins to get out of that place plus the drive home but it going to be worth it.

Well it the open display copy I'm going to have to try & avoid. Yes I could order them from a certain online retailer but for me there is still something special about going into a book shop picking a book up & buying it.

Best way to avoid the spoilers, and this is my personal method, is to watch all the coverage of the tv interviews and such. The actors generally spoil absolutely nothing. The TV spots are optional of course and you don't have to worry about anymore trailers. Watch all the way up to the red carpet and world premiere stuff. Enjoy the hell out of that annual livestream, then force yourself to do a social media blackout from then until release night. It is very simple to stay off Facebook and Twitter for a few days. Messenger makes it easy so you can still message your friends without having to go through the official Facebook website. I also HIGHLY recommend staying off here because some people will come in here and spoil the film. We have had run-ins with those guys over at The Alliance to Preserve the Expanded Universe in years past and it is their primary objective to go into forums, social media spaces, and actual movie theaters just to ruin the movie for fans a la Homer Simpson style, but about 10 times worse. In many cases, these fans have been arrested for disturbing the peace and have been physically attacked in public, so it is best to be prepared for all scenarios online and in the real world. Be safe out there and protect yourself from potential spoilers.

6 days without social media really is not all that bad. Let your friends know you are cutting the cord for a few days as needed.

I'm having dreams about going to the cinema to watch the movie but always being unable to watch it due to various circumstances. It is really annoying. I really need to find another franchise to become obsessed with for 2 or 3 weeks.
