What if Luke had Jedi Academy, and then Knights of Ren killed all his padawans.
Luke devastated by that leaves Jedi ways.
    He finds himself a wife.
He and his wife got a child Rey.
Then Knights of Ren attack again and kill his wife, only his daughter survive.
Luke then realizes that he can not escape from and discard jedi ways. He is a jedi. And his daughter will always be in danger.
So he leaves her on Jakku, for her sake.

In this way jedi code about marriage would not be really broken.

If he's a jedi regardless of his self doubt and grief over the loss of his students, how did he not violate the jedi rule of marriage?

Well if Luke sets up a new Jedi Order he doesn't have to stick to the old rules or dogma. I don't the rule about marriage/love needs to be an issue.

You know. That being said, I would like for Rey to kinda do just that. Reform things. Since she is the heir. Her new order, Her rules right? Down to the way the jedi look and all. Thoughts?

To tell the truth......I don´t see Rey as matriarcha to the New Jedi Order.....I rather imagine Luke survive the trilogy and found finally the Order, live long and train many....with Rey retiring to a peaceful place or helping her father....there´s still one more possibility....that they will never found Jedi order. I know, blasphemy, right? :)

OOOOOO I don't know if I can get with you on that one. But regardless...Han is just a fun edgy character anyway. I'm really intertwined with the different ways this could go. I mean, That shot of Rey and Chewie in the falcon looking sad could mean that Rey is grieving over her murdered father or just grieving for the loss of Han period. Or it could be something totally different all together.

In EP 1-6 we learned that being a Jedi is not necessarily forever. People can leave Jedi order, they can become something else like a Sith.

What if Luke leaved Jedi ways after disaster with Jedi academy. If he belives that he is not a jedi, he can not broke a code.
What if Luke convinced himself that he can forget his jedi life and be a normal person again. That farm boy he once was.
He has few years of that simple life with his wife and daughter, then again Knights of Ren happen for second time and wake him from that dream.

He realizes that he can not escape. That his jedi past, his legacy will always follow him.
So he leaves his daughter on Jakku, and he goes into exile.
He belives that his daughter will be free, safe and have that simple life without jedi and ''being Skywalker'' burden.
Luke into exile belives that jedi will extinct with him.
He is devastated person that lost all hope. He do not belive that jedi are saviors of the galaxy anymore. Whole his belives are shaken.

Time passes, his daughter Rey is now a young woman. And just like everything in that universe she can not escape her destiny.
Force chose her to be a Jedi and to return her father to the right path. To bring him faith again in a Jedi ways and Force.
Luke sees the hope in her and trains her in jedi ways.

You may. But is only predictable because Luke became a monk and Han got the girl.

I don't mind the idea that Luke would break (or never adopt) the old Jedi "no attachments" motto. I just think the time for that story is over. The very same people who want so bad for Luke to have a daughter will be the most opposed to a younger actor playing him in the inevitable anthology movie they would make about him meeting his baby momma.

No not blasphemy at all! Perhaps it will be something like more universal force and less religiosity when the new "order" takes form.

I´m always justifying my Rey Skywalker theory adding that that´s also my deepest wish :) it´s the most logical thing to me - being Leia or Han I would never left my child on a desert planet, far from me, with no contact etc.....now Luke hiding and not being able to be with his daughter, that´s more probable, at least to me, and it always was. Everithing we saw or heard - Daisy hang around Harrison, being Solo....appropiate picture in the Falcon....it could be part of the disinformation campaign...

Rey has a serious, earnest look in the teasers which reminds me of Luke now I think about it.

Your idea works, but that's a lot of important stuff going on outside the movies. When the audience last saw Luke he was a Jedi. In fact, Luke represented "The Return of the Jedi" (along with his father's redemption, of course). I don't think you can go from the audience knowing Luke as a Jedi, skip 30 years and then come back and say, "Yeah it didn't pan out for him because of this and this and this". The audience have to have a sense that the "happy ever after" hinted at by the end of RotJ happened and that now is the best time to dip back into that story and show that the expected story has altered. The Force Awakens needs to pick up the story (not just Luke's, but the entire galaxy's) at the point where it diverges from what we thought would happen after RotJ. It can't drop in after 30 years and explain away something like Luke turning his back on being a Jedi to start a family, losing his wife and returning to being a Jedi in time for TFA just because that conveniently allows for the creation of a daughter. I'm sorry, as good as your story is, the majority of the audience would feel cheated if that were the case, and I would be with them on that....

But the mayority of moviegoers remember exactly this: Luke goes solo while Han and Leia live happyli ever after. And most of the audience - and I´m not talking about us, the fanboys - will expect just that.
And btw you´re totally right hahahaha, I´m the guy who absolutely hates the idea of recasting young Luke/Han/Leia (if they are older than 10 years I would still say -Why would anyone needs to see the young version of these characters instead of a fresh story with NEW characters and kill mystery/our imagination- but eventually it would be believable)

If rumors about flashbacks are true. That is one of the ways to explain what happened.
    --- Double Post Merged, Oct 5, 2015, Original Post Date: Oct 5, 2015 ---
As for younger actor. Flashbacks can be done in some stylized manner so that we do not actually see Luke face in them. Maybe just parts of his face. Maybe events can be shown from his perspective.

In that way there would not be need for real recasting. Actor would be just a double for Hamill.

It's not about whether or not the information could be conveyed during TFA, its about the gravitas of the decisions associated with the events and to what extend they deviate from our expectations when we last saw Luke. You're right, it could be shown in flashback and maybe it could work really well; I just feel it's a bit much and could be a movie or two to itself. Also, as I've said elsewhere, I'm not comfortable with one of the most beloved movie heroes of all time falling in love, marrying (maybe), and having children with a woman who only exists in flashbacks. Am I totally alone on this point? Wouldn't reducing THE WIFE OF LUKE SKYWALKER to a plot device conveyed via a flashback be demeaning to the character AND to the status of motherhood? TFA is giving us a female lead, a first for the SW movies; having her be the daughter of a woman we never knew would undermine that move, imho--not to mention create a dynamic we saw with Anakin not knowing his father. I just don't buy it. It could play that way--it could work--but for now, it just makes me a little uneasy....
