The full trailer. When and where?

So nobody has any idea if the trailer is dropping friday or not?

 

Breznican essentially staked his reputation on the fact that there wouldn't be a trailer leading up to or on Force Friday. I wouldn't get my hopes up. My best guess is sometime in October, maybe at New York Comic Con.

 

I hate how everyone keeps referencing Breznican. Does he work for Disney or Lucasfilm? No... He is just simply reporting what he thinks on the trailer release date like the rest of us. JJ, Bob Iger, and Kathleen have the final say on when the trailer drops, so I don't believe him for one second. I also don't think it's Force Friday, but there is not enough circumstantial evidence at this point against it dropping Friday either.

 

Stop getting mad because there isn't and won't be a trailer. Get over it. Breznican works for EW, EW has some sort of agreement with Lucasfilm, some sort of exclusiveness. If a trailer is gonna hit, they get first whiff.

NYCC will be the place they release the Trailer.

 

It doesn't prove anything, and listening is all I have been doing. They want to delay releasing as much as possible, and that means October or November. They could release a third teaser in October, and the full trailer in November, with a couple more tv spots in september, and they will avoid your "marketing suicide". I'm pretty sure most of you have never worked in marketing, video production, and have never made a company millions. I have done all three.

 

From what I can gather from my guys the next trailer or another long teaser is coming in mid OCT. I was told that we will see at least 1 more quick teaser like what we got last week between now and then. I do know that a couple of the variations of the trailers are about to be focus group tested.

Side note: some of the trailer concepts that I was told about back around SDCC didn't test well. So they were scrapped for something else or are being reworked. Not sure how TFA is getting their concepts in front of any focus groups without it being someone posting a reddit or something, but it's being done. Hell come to think of it back around celebration, some of those Reddits claiming to have seen the trailer could have been from focus group testing. Someone should find those and aggregate those descriptions into a thread.

 

With the exclusivity and NDAs in place, I doubt there is a major media deal with EW at this point. He may be one of the first to hear about something when they release it to the mass media, but I doubt he actually is the only one in comms with Lucasfilm and Disney. Definitely not mad about the trailer release date at all. If anything I am quite ecstatic with whatever we get.

With the focus groups, I hope we maybe hear at least a small bit of what they thought, but not necessarily what was included (non disclosures of course). I think what we have to go off of is that what JJ said about "the fall" will be true at this point.

 

How is discussing whether EW can/will know about the trailer beforehand off topic in a thread about the trailer, when at this point we're doing nothing but date seeking?

I'll be honest. I disagree. I think we will see more marketing, of course, but I honestly doubt if it will even be to the level of Ant Man. That Maclunkey movie was everywhere before it's release. Even quite a ways out from its release date if I am not mistaken.
