    This is what I call bad continuity. It's like if Irving Kershner (TESB) replaced the Stormtroopers with More conventional looking soilders without explanation.

    We have absolutely no idea about their whereabouts or even function. If anything the continuity *within* TFA from flashback to present day story is the prime question and you need a whole boatload of auxiliary assumptions to expect them to show up in TLJ.

    Looks like the link here original was an incredibly detailed spoilery review. It's now been cleaned up into a spoiler-free review. There was also a lot of backlash in the comments. Either someone complained about the spoilers or Disney issued a cease-n-desist in an effort to damage control.

    I have seen The Last Jedi and can confirm the Knights Of Ren do not appear at all. Luke does indeed say Kylo took off with some of Luke's former students. They are not explicitly named as the "Knights Of Ren".

    I do believe the Knights Of Ren are Luke's former students as mentioned/implied strongly in the Last Jedi. But just to be precise the words "Knights Of Ren" technically aren't said out loud. :)

    i remember luke said
    ben took a few of his students when ben burnt the temple down, i suspect the KoR gang were the students who left with ben and helped him with the massacre
