Once again from my point of view skywalker lineage ends with EP-8 because Kylo Ren is not a skywalker anymore even though he is from a skywalker bloodline.

In TFA Kylo Ren quotes these exact words

just before killing Han Solo on star killer base. It is this moment which Kylo Ren ushers himself in establishing his idealised self. It is very reminiscent of conversation between Darth Vader and Luke from ROTJ.


Like I said in my previous post, ST creators have their own agenda, they are undoing what GL has done with skywalker bloodline from TPM to ROTJ.

Some people were even saying that there was a bromance between Poe and Finn when TFA came out.

Biggest obstacle in Reylo is either Rey or Kylo Ren has to defect from their sides and join hands with each other.

Honestly I was disappointed too. Still not able to fully focus my feeling, but for sure I'm not on the positive side.
The biggest issue for me was that in most of the film I felt the pathos was missing. Yes there were sepcific moments very emotional, well done, and also the feeling the story could go literally everywhere at some points was shocking in a positive way. But... many important moments were totally ruined by pointless and exaggerated humour, sometimes not even funny. It was everywhere, on everyone, often misplaced. And I'm a big lover of humor, in general.
Things to save: some plot twists (Holdo, Snoke plans for playing with Kylo and Rey), the battle in Snoke throne's room, the metaphore of the red color on Crait (very nice when Kylo tries to cut Luke and you see a splash of red, but it's just Kylo shoe traces), the development of Kylo Ren character (I found him more convincing than TFA), of course technical aspects and music (needless to say).
But... I can't help but thinking...
- how the hell Snoke cannot sense Kylo is moving the saber next to him?
- the dialogues between Rey and Luke are a lost occasion, often superficial and empty...
- Leia playing Superman in the space.. come on...
- many characters not used as they would deserve (Chewbacca, C3PO/R2D2, Phasma again...)
- Hux.. what a poor character... one of the worst villains ever in SW... not credible at all that an army of who knows how many hundreds of thousands people is led by such a poor leader... in reality he would have been blown away.

Maybe I had too much hope and expectations from Ryan Johnson.
Anyway, 2nd view is totally needed.

 

I think it is more complex than just one side or the other.

You can be attracted, even attracted sexually, to another, yet want to have nothing to do with them. I think that is where we are headed. Their relationship will be far too deep for sexual emotions to come to the forefront. They will care for one another, but Ben's flaws will make it impossible for him to have a relationship such as this and Rey will be well aware of it given their connection.

From the sound of these spoilers, I'm kind of sad about Luke. He's my favorite character, but I'm going to keep an open mind going in. Stories have to evolve and grow, just as life does. Hopefully it will all tie together when episode 9 is complete. Seeing it tomorrow at 6:00 PM. Yippie!!!!!

 

So I take it the only time we see Phasma is when she fights with Finn and loses? That seems pretty anti-climatic, imo. I mean, it feels like they were setting her up for a bigger role in the ST. Wow.

And DJ also dies?

Spoiler: DJ dies/survives?

I thought DJ made it out alive? His reward for Finn and Rose was money and a ship. Didn't he just fly away and disappear?

 

After having some time to think about it, Reylo has a very very low chance of actually happening in IX. Not completely dead because it could still theoretically happen, probably right at the end of the movie and only under very strict circumstances (Snoke is still living in the force, and he used his death to fully force Kylo to the dark side, with no chances to go back to the light) and Kylo defecting and stopping his own plans by accepting life imprisonment as a punishment.

Kylo kinda messed it up with his "I wanna be the very best" at being dark side at the end of TLJ. And by killing Snoke he is now the main big bad like the emperor

That, or no romance, or we have the cringey Finn and Rose thing and nothing else. Poe and Rey have shared little to no scenes to really build up anything.

 

The only sequence in which she has something to do or say is the execution of Rose and Finn and the subsequent fight with Finn. There might be a scene earlier where she in the background or something, but nothing substantial.

It is possible that DJ survives. Just before the Raddus hits the Supremacy (and chaos ensues), he receives his money. It is not clear whether he is able to leave the ship before it is hit. Several characters are able to leave the ship unharmed separately (Rey alone, Kylo and Hux together, Rose, Finn and BB8 together), so DJ will probably have done so too. We do not see him leave, but we do not see his death either. It is best to assume he is still alive.

I do not know. TFA was alright. The story was derivative, but the new characters were good. This one is different than any other SW movie. One of the problems is too much humor (in places where it could have done without). The other problem is that many of the set-ups from TFA (Rey's parents, Snoke's background, etc.) and several characters (Phasma, Maz Kanata, etc.) are not being used at all.

 

Aweful. I feel so bad for Snoke's character.

Can someone answer me this: do we get any Luke scenes with the force theme?

 

Not 100% sure, but Luke is a lot in this movie. TFA was Han's movie, TLJ is Luke's movie.

 

Also have a theory/way JJ can recontinue Snoke.

Snoke is inside Kylo's mind while Kylo kills him? We know Kylo was manipulated by Snoke. Controlled.

We saw Luke live beyond his body.. what if Snoke is the same.. and took over Kylo's body, and then killed his own body?

Especially since after this it seems like he wants to kill Luke even more?

 

I hope so.
