Although not impossible, it seems unlikely. Snoke seems surprised by his own death. Kylo seems to be the same person before and after Snoke's death. Kylo is still conflicted.

 

I thought of this as well, the whole movie was giving off this fanfiction vibe the whole time i was watching it

 

in fact, the only real erotic tension in the movie to me is between Holdo and Poe. Kylo and Rey have more like a brother/sister kind of relationship (at some point I was dragged towards this idea, then clearly proven wrong. ...or not? )

 

And thus Reysnokylo was born!

Joking aside, I like this. If done well, it could be a great mind twister. And Kylo would finally get some just desserts for all his evil!

Maybe not full take over, but a gradual one.

 

Spoiler: Luke and Force Theme?

Yes, towards the end of the movie. Luke is meditating on a rock by the sea on Ahch-To, exhausted. He looks at the setting sun in the sky, teary-eyed. Force Theme blasts. And.... massive spoiler after that.

After seeing what actually is happening now with this movie I guess it isnt quite as bad as I thought. The only thing I have a problem with is the way Luke goes out. It seems its something that should be in a rebels cartoon instead of the movie like that Bendu episode. I am sure it will probably be good however. People I trust that have seen it seem to like it better than all the movies except Ep 5.

I still would have rather Kylo physically did it but I did want Kylo to be in that spot at least by the beginning of Ep 9. I also wanted things to happen Sith apprentice style. Just sucks we may have to wait a long while to find out what Snoke's background is.

 

I reserve judgment after a second or third movie, but let's say that I have mixed emotions. There are several problems. One of which is that the set-ups of TFA and characters are not being used. I have already given the examples of Maz Kanata and Phasma. Another example is the Knights of Ren. They are mentioned but not shown.

 

If I've learned anything with Hollywood writing, it seems if they want to change direction there is always a creative way to do so. I'm still trying to keep an open mind and hope that there is an overall plan for the series and it will all come together by the end of episode 9. I know after ESB I sure felt unsatisfied and frustrated, but the overall story came together and now it is one of my favorites.

 

Perhaps now that Snoke's story has (seemingly ended) we will get the information. The movie ends at zero. A clean slate. All the heroes together on the Millennium Falcon (except for Maz Kanata). Kylo is the leader of the First Order, with Hux his lackey. Hardly any loose threads (perhaps the Knights of Ren is the exception). The movie is about letting go of the past. The lore and history of Jedi and Sith is not important.

 

Something else that really makes me mad is that Rey and Finn have zero scenes together.

So, does Luke "defeat" Kylo Ren? Or just look look more godly?

 

Yep no reason now a novel couldn't explain the rise of the first order or a comic etc. and explain the unknown region stuff a little.

 

How were they gonna have scenes together? Rey went to the island and Finn was knocked out. Leave a note by saying"Hey, when you wake I'll be with Luke on Ach-To. Text me and Chewie will pick you up. Love ya, your bff."

When Finn wakes up things are happening around him and he has no idea where she is.

 

They only meet again at the very end of the movie. They hug.

 

Hey, guys. Remember how people kept telling Legends fans that they didn't want to have to read other material to understand the story in the films? Whoops.

 

Rian could have spent some time on Snoke's background but he decided to focus on the porgs instead.

 

That is what I don't get. Why just use the first temple for a place Luke just wants to hide out and withdraw from the world at basically. I think most other directors would have built that history into the movie more. Its like Johnson just said I am going to treat it like any place he might go where he can stay hidden basically.
