I would have preferred my title for VIII: "The Stench Of Popcorn"

 

Safe to say that it translates into foreign languages far better than "The Last Of The Good Guys That Are Chock Full o' Midichlorians".

 

I think the new cannon is trying to establish the fact that JEDI is a title like SITH.
You can leave the JEDI order and no longer be considered a JEDI but that doesn't mean you lose what power and knowledge you have learned from the order.

You are still a force user, you just don't have the title of JEDI. Kind of like if you were Catholic and decided to leave the Catholic church and become; say a baptist. You would still be considered a christian but would no longer be recognized by the Catholic church as one of theirs.

That being said, Luke is the Last Jedi. Kylo is no longer in consideration.
Rey is not yet trained or inducted into the Jedi order.

I'm sorry, I thought "Ed. Zachary = Exactly" was pretty widely known.

Just a smart @$$ way of agreeing with someone 1000% that I find funny.

 

There was actually a problem with Polish translation of Rogue One. The translation, "Łotr 1," is pretty accurate but also can also be understood as "łotr jeden," what means something along the lines of "little rascal," a thing that would have been said by an older lady about a naughty grandchild.

 

It means they have a story in place for three successive movies and know what they're doing.

I'm wondering if I'd prefer it to be called "Last of the Jedi" instead now.

Lotr 1 is actually the Fellowship of the Ring, anyway, so now I'm very confused.

 

Whereas I would truly enjoy to see this trailer while my Patriots are hopefully obliterating the Falcons towards their 5th ring, I didn't think to be feasible since I don't think they should pay the tremendously high fee for a SB commercial when Star Wars is something you do not need to spend so much money in order to get people into it.

As for me, I like the title; and I liked it pretty much from the moment I saw it. The same couldn't be said for The Force Awakens. While I like that title as well, I think it's stylistically out of place; i.e. titles that are reminiscent of those old, pulp serials. The Last Jedi is a return to form.

 

Pffttt! The superbowl doesnt even get close to the viewership of real football! Even CRICKET beats it!

 

Not "Lotr," but "Łotr." You know the British pound symbol (£?) In Polish alphabet it is a separate letter (it is pronounced like English "w".)

 

I noticed that the titles for the second movies of the other two trilogies seemed to hint some kind of aggression on someone's or an organization's part. "The Last Jedi" doesn't seem to continue that cycle.

What I really like about this title and the font color choice is that it opens a lot of possibilities towards the focus of this movie.

 

I like the title. Not sure if I like the red type though... seems very SITHish.

 

The Super Bowl gets a big rating overseas, despite the obscene hour it ends in Europe....and I think it begins Monday morning in Asia....

But the SB gets like 35 million viewers outside the US.... not bad.

That said, the SB is on FOX and a 30 sec ad will run you 5 million dollars. I don't see Disney blowing that dough this early in the game.

Like I said above, the Pro Bowl is on ESPN, but that's this weekend, and almost certainly too soon for a teaser, though the ProBowl would love the ratings boost, I'm sure.

5 million is a nickel for disney

 

I'm not on board with the Luke dying theory that has come from this title. I think that the Last Jedi is referencing Luke, not Rey. Luke was already called the Last Jedi in the crawl of the Force Awakens.

Luke has become too important to Star Wars especially now that Carrie Fisher has died. Unless Leia is recast (not likely) Mark Hamill/Luke will be the only remaining member of the original big 3 and I think killing him off in The Last Jedi would devastate fans who don't really have anything to look forward to with the classic characters, because we all know that Leia's story will have to be wrapped up somehow by the end of the trilogy.

 

omg, I love this title sooooooooo much!! The red lettering makes my knees wobble.
