The Mandalorian S2E8 - Chapter 16

Oh, I see what you're saying (I think). Ben and a handful of other students are what Luke started his training temple with. But he didn't start that for years, so I guess if Luke is training Grogu one on one, he doesn't count as a temple student. (If there is a "first ever" student, I guess it would be Leia?)

But I'd think Grogu would have all his training done by the time the training temple is destroyed twenty years from now. Or even before Luke starts training Ben.

 

If Ben was "one of" the first students, why can't Grogu be one of the other few? Maybe Grogu is one of the reasons Luke decides to make a jedi academy

 

I liked the episode, even if it leaves some questions unaswered. Where is Thrawn? What Boba Fett is going to do now on Tatooine? Is there going to be a duel between Din Djarin and Bo Katan? By the way, like I said I quite enjoyed the episode, apart from the stormtrooper who apparently are not able to aim but that's normal. I liked Luke's appearance but maybe I would have preferred to see both Luke and Ahsoka together. What do you think?

Exactly. I mean, in Rebels Sabine gives the sword to Bo Katan without a duel. If I remember right.

 

So does Din report back to the Armorer in s3, ep1 about completing his task and asking for advice on Bo-Katan, Mandalore and the dark sabre?

 

I think we know who the character poster is going to be on Monday.

 

I was going to say Din doesn't know where the Armorer is...but I also thought he didn't know where Bo-Katan was, and bang, he showed up in her favorite cantina. (So I guess they exchanged phone numbers before he jumped out of the freighter in chapter 11? Or Din just has a sense about these things...unless they're Jedi)?

 

Giancarlo Esposito has already confirmed he's in season 3 and even suggested a season 4. Most of the core cast I'm pretty sure isn't going anywhere.

This is probably the first time someone has touched Din's actual face for twenty-plus years since he swore the Creed.

I'd cry too.

 

I wouldn't worry too much about Grogu. He'd only be around 75 after TROS so given how little he's grown up at 50 I doubt he too much more developed by the time Rey is running the show. Which is something that could be really awesome for future stories about Rey rebuilding the Jedi Order. Our little Grogu who was born the same year as Anakin could be the one to rebuild what Anakin help destroy. That would make for a pretty great story.

 

I think it's important to note that Bip Fortuna has as much screentime as Admiral Ackbar so people should be very upset he was killed so unceremoniously right?

 

Sabine did lose it to Gar Saxon, before winning it back from him.

LUKE LITERALLY FORESAW HIS REWARD!!! HE KNEW BIB WOULD TAKE OVER THE PALACE!

 

If Jon and Dave have done one thing with this series after 2 seasons, they have really brought HOPE to the Franchise. Yeah, sounds corny, I know. But when SW came out, it was close to the end of the 70s. The War, the unrest. SW back then gave us all something we needed. Mind you I was 13, so I'm not sure how much I was up on all the real events going on back then. But from what I read over the years, SW really came at a time when it was REALLY needed.

Thank you to the WHOLE Mandalorian Team for giving us HOPE in Star Wars again. I'm just so emotional about it, so I'll spare you all the sight of a 56 year old man shedding a bit of tears for all this. Seriously, SW is my haven. My Fantastical Escape. I need it.

 

Din is still hitchhiking around the galaxy. Wonder if he gets a ship between now and the next time we see him.

 

StarWarsExplained had a decent reason why this could work. Mandalore fell and somehow Gideon got the Dark Saber. That is a story to tell. Well Bo Katan has said a couple things about uniting the Mandalorians. So maybe because of how she lost it she now believes that it must be won in combat so that the other Mandalorians unite behind her. So she wont take it from Din like she did from Sabine.

Cool to finally see a Mando Kom'rk-class transport in live action (Bo's ship), as I mentioned in a thread last week I had a feeling they'd show up and I think this might become Din’s new ship.

 

I think Mandalorian novels and comics can cover most of the Luke material honestly. And if they detail some contrived reason why Grogu has to go back to Din (which the show can reference offhand without needing too much CGI Luke), I won't complain. Most people watch this show for Grogu anyway.

 

It just feels very convoluted tbh.
I think that's the issue people are having with it.
