SPECULATION The Official Rey's Parents in Ep. IX Thread

Several things:
1) As of TRoS, Rey is 20 years old
2) She is exactly 10 years younger than Ben/Kylo, who is 30 as of TRoS
3) IF spoilers/leaked things we've heard about turn out to be true, she cannot be anything less than a third generation removed from the Emperor due to her age and year of birth
4) The idea that the Kylo Ren "what girl?" thing from the TFA novelization was indicative of recognition or familiarity was debunked 4 years ago by individuals directly associated with Lucasfilm
5) Individuals directly associated with Lucasfilm have already cemented the veracity of Kylo and Rey's conversation in TLJ where he gets her to finally admit to herself the truth about her parents and their fate

 

Plan B.. yes that must be it! Lord Sidious created his own bloodline, knowing that his master’s bloodline (Skywalkers) was flawed; Palpatine says of Plagueis, “He had such a knowledge of the Dark Side, he could keep the ones he cared about from dying.” This indicates Plagueis was sentimental and had loved ones; note the Skywalkers act as he, Anakin tries to save Padme, Luke tries to save his friends and father. Sidious may have seeing this as weakness wanted to breed it out of a new bloodline, remeber his line in TRoS, “Now you coming together will be your undoing.” Could Palpatine mean his Plan B?

 

It's debatable as to whether or not Palpatine was actually telling the truth about what Plagueis could supposedly do because he's lying to Anakin about pretty much everything else during that scene, allthough we don't realize that until a bit later on in RotS after Anakin has actually finally turned to the Dark Side.

 

How is it lies? Palpatine actually was right. The Jedi were trying to take over. Mace Windu said “The Jedi will have to take over the Senate to secure a peaceful transition,” Yoda says, “to a dark line of thought this will take us.” Windu then tries to be judge and excutioner by trying to kill Sidious, “I’m gonna end this! He’s got control of the Senate and the courts! He is too dsngerious to be left alive.”

If the Jedi were just, they woukd have exposed Palpatine’s alleged crimes, and machinations with proof (evidence), and had a trial. Instead they play police, and court in one.

 

During their chat at the opera, Palpatine leads Anakin to believe that Plagueis' apprentice (himself) had learned Plagueis' secrets to immortality; this is later proven to be a lie when he says "To cheat death is a power only one has achieved, but, if we work together, I know we can discover the secret."

That quote does suggest that Plagueis did in fact know how to keep people from dying, but since Palpatine is a manipulator, there's really no way of knowing how much he said to Anakin was truth and how much was lies.

 

From a certain point of view, Palpatine did help Vader cheat death by getting him a life support system and the kind of medical attention not even Jedi had.

But the discrepancy in Lord Sidious’s words could be simple writing issues: i.e. Continuity Mistake.

 

No he wasn't, he was killed by Obi Wan in Rebels...

 

A comment like this demonstrates a staggering level of ignorance of the facts.

 

Or Owen Lars in the original EU story. That’s what I mean, stories change so often these days.

I have read Maul died at three person’s hands:

1. Owen Lars
2. Palpatine
3. And now I am informed Obi-Wan killed Maul a second time after killing Maul in TPM.

So exuse if I am somewhat confused who is the current killer of Maul. In fact, Maul is becoming like The Joker (Jerome) and other villans in the Gotham TV Series that Hugo Strange and Lazarus Waters of Ra’s Al Ghoul keep bringing back to life.

You've got my curiosity going now.... Where did Owen Lars or Palpatine kill Maul? Books or comic books? In one of the TV series? I don't have time to watch or read all of the non movie stuff but I'm really curious about it.
