    I can't even right now. I REALLY hope that he goes into the past. Doesn't even have to be KoTOR or Revan... just go deep into the history of the Jedi/Sith.

    Disney must really be pleased with TLJ. I don’t think they would put the future of their billion dollar baby in the hands of someone they were worried might endanger their golden goose. I am even more confidant it will be a home run now.

    Well, to me this says a TON of what they think about his work on TLJ. They're like "Here, take this check and a blank slate and make your own trilogy.". This is exciting.

    Lucasfilm and Disney must love what Rian has done with The Last Jedi, otherwise they wouldn't have brought him back. The only thing I would have changed is I would have made this announcement after Episode VIII premieres, to keep the hype train going and make it seem less like a cash-grab. Outside of that, I am shocked and over the moon because of this announcement.

    I also have a sneaking suspicion that this trilogy might be the one during which Ava Duvernay finally directs her Star Wars film, because I believe that with her close relationship with J. J. Abrams and her directing The Wrinkle in Time (a Disney blockbuster,) it's not a matter of if, but a matter of when she'll get a SW film to direct.

    I wonder if this is a case where the news was going to leak and they wanted very much to be the ones to announce it. It's not very often they get to surprise us like this. Most of these big deals get scooped.

    That is probably what this means, until sometime in the future when Kids still decides it's too lucrative to let Rey, Poe, Finn, etc. sit on the shelf.

    Amazing news. And a strong endorsement of a filmmaker who I would assume has met or exceeded all of Lucasfilm’s expectations. As a fan of RJ, I really couldn’t be happier that he’s the one leading the way.
