    I hope it's set in the TFA era. I want something new and fresh I feel like we have been stuck in prequel and OT era for so long and no matter what they put out we still know the general outline so too much can't change but if it's set in new territory it feels like anything goes which is a new and exciting feeling.

    Ok, that makes sense. But what rogue squadron is exactly in no longer canon right? Just that it was a call sign used by the rebels.

    I think you are pretty much right. I think Luke's callsign in the battle of Hoth is Rogue leader but I don't remember. Thats a good enough excuse for me to watch ESB tonight.

    Yeah, I just wasn't sure if they were mentioned in the new books or comics yet. I haven't been able to keep up with the new print canon.

    I haven't kept up with it all, but Rogue Squadron hasn't been in Rebels, A New Dawn, or the Star Wars flagship comic yet. I agree there is a lot to try and keep up with.

    I just got done reading Tarkin last night and moved on to Heir to the Jedi i'm only a quarter way thru and so far no call signs but i'll let ya know if there is. I like Heir better already a lot more fast paced. Tarkin was really slow at times but it was cool because you get to know Palpatine a bit more and the relationship between Vader and Tarkin but other than that the story is kinda too simple. Sorry off topic I know.

    I have read all the new canon novels and comics so far (I'm halfway through Heir to the Jedi). Rogue Squadron has not been mentioned in new canon as of yet. Tarkin however does mention a character, Armand Isard, an imperial who was the father of Ysanne Isard. She was a main villian in the Rogue Squadron series...ya know... come to think of it...

    Very interesting. That would be cool to see a SW character with heterochromia would definitely add something different.

    I'm intrigued at this title...the first thing that pops in to my head is - "Oh...Rogue Squadron!" But isn't "Rogue Leader" the callsign generally reserved for the #1 spot? I'm curious to see where they go with this and how the title comes into play. Luke was Rogue Leader in ESB at the Battle of Hoth. Wookieepedia does state in the Legends tab for the Rogue Leader entry that the slot is also "Rogue One".
