TLJ Second Trailer. When and Where ??

i think it's 50/50 that he trolling. Remember his twitter announcement for his TV show where he used TFA trailer hype to troll folks. It could be this level of trolling again.

But i'd like to think he's telling the truth.

 

It's precisely why I still have some doubts in the back of my mind: I could see the game finishing that night, with us still without a trailer, and Mark tweeting something the lines of Oh, did I say the 9th? What I meant to say was the 16th...

Then again, that seems a bit too far, even for the Clown Prince

 

The MNF game that night is between two very weak teams (no offense to Bears and Vikings fans) who are decimated with injuries and questionable talent at a lot of positions and are not a lot of fun to watch. This is a wise move for Disney and the NFL to drive viewers if at least for a few minutes to their game.

 

If the date is accurate, it will likely be half time just so the numbers for the game look high enough in the ratings. I doubt we get an exact time of the trailer so they'll hook us into watching it for long enough.

 

We won't. I don't remember getting a window before. Either way, IIRC last time this happened it was online within seconds of it airing or might have even been online just before it aired. I could be remembering that wrong though.

 

Yep, okay, time to throw the info out there; the currently assumed date and time for the final trailer of TLJ (!!!) is as follows:

October 9th 2017
Minnesota Vikings v. Chicago Bears
Game begins at 20:30 ET. The final trailer for TFA was released at half-time, meaning that the trailer will likely drop in the break interval, which will be beginning at roughly 21:00 ET.

Unless word comes out that the trailer is expected to come before the start of the game - which wouldn't make sense, seeing as this wouldn't boost ratings at all - then the most likely scenario is that you should be turning on your TV/refreshing the Star Wars YouTube page frantically at roughly 21:00 ET (which would be 17:00 PT, 19:00 CT and 02:00 BST).

Have Disney just handcuffed him for lying to fans - which could cause a huge upstir itself - or have they handcuffed him because it is the date of release and he shouldn't be telling us?

Even if SWNN goes on to report that the trailer drops at that date, we'll likely have no way of knowing for sure, I assume, until 07:00 - 08:00 on October 8th during GMA, where a teaser would likely drop. Might make more sense for it to drop on the Saturday morning, the 7th, mind you.

 

I believe that he jumped the gun and they weren't ready to announce that. As trollish as he gets, that one was SUPER specific and he's typically not like that when he trolls.

We all know Mark doesn't like spoilers, so if there is a new trailer coming on October 9th (I hope there is), it makes sense that he would delete the tweet

 

I think its one of his famous troll jokes..

 

The Star Wars Show on YT coming out either today or tomorrow might fill us in on this. If Mark jumped the gun, then i'd imagine they might do a little skit about it and then confirm it. If nothing is said, likely a troll.

He might have thought it wasn't jokey enough, if it was a troll? But i think you're right. He hasn't acknowledged the tweet deletion and it seemed oddly specific.

So compared to his other troll where he was promoting his TV show by hyping a TFA trailer, he kept the tweet up and let the hype build. This was obviously different.

 

As I said on the other thread, it's not that simple announcing a trailer just under four weeks before it's released is no small thing in the current state of the entertainment industry, and anything as big as this would have to be passed by a higher-up beforehand.

Yes: even if it's only a trailer announcement.

Could go either way, to be honest. He could absolutely be lying/trolling and deleted it accordingly - because if he were, then Disney wouldn't be too happy that half of the fan base is freaking out about something that isn't happening - but likewise, Disney could have absolutely made in withdraw that comment, or perhaps he even retracted it himself, if there's any truth to it.

It was TLJ but I agree, the objective specificity is what I think has all scratching our heads, especially moreso now that he's taken it down.

Then again, whether there's truth to it or not, there are potentially tens of millions of dollars for opening weekend alone riding on this next trailer, and so, whether or not there's any truth to it, I can't imagine Disney and LFL being particularly happy with this.

 

To be hornest i really start to get irritated by those troll Tweets from him. If it is not Star Wars related then i do not care about it ..

 

When I saw the headlines today, I rolled my eyes because I was sure he's trolling again (how could he know when it drops?), but then I saw the tweet. It looks too straightforward to be an innocent lie. I don't think Mark is that into analysing Star Wars marketing cycle to know that this date and attaching the trailer to MNF is extremely likely. I'm not convinced yet, though, and I try not to get too excited. It still could be another level of trolling...
