btw --your bet on 1.3+ bln means film failing projected box Office iminent .

Disney has stated they consider success any result over 1.5 billion.

I am sure they will think about this results, and ,hopefully not kill all Skywalkers in ep IX.

 

My original post was a ball park figure. LFL have nothing to despair about. It’s on course to make more than enough money to keep Disney happy.

I have no vested interest in the box office takings. I just think it’ll likely make something close to 1.5 billion. If you think lower than 1.3, not betting over 1.3 isn’t about not taking risks. It’s about not being a fool.

 

Scot Mendelson was very precise so far- he says around 1.3 billion $ total cume for TLJ at the end of theatric run.

The ageda is this :

1.no Disney will not starve,

and

2. Yes they will absolutely think about how did it happened.(they lost about 500 million $ compared to pre-release projections of Box office which ranged from pesimistic 1.7 to most likely 1.9 bln $, though some believed it could reach 2.1 $ bln from TFA ),

... when you lose 1/2 billion dollars(minimum) over projected (conservative) estimated income you do make inquiry in any Company--. Inevitable.

 

The TLJ has faced stiffer competition then TFA did. The box office was already at a 3 year low. The kids were still in school. The film is long and not great for repeat viewings for youngsters! The first film always gets the bigger box office.

Box office prediction isn’t an exact science and there are many different things that can have an impact. If TLJ fell below 1 billion and was widely panned by audiences and critics then you’d have a point. But it’s still on course to make 1.5 billion.

 

It won’t make that much. I’d say it’ll make 1.2 or 1.3 which is around what Rogue One did. That has to be something of a disappointment for Disney.

 

Anyway,this box office does not mean anything about quality of the film,It speaks about ,I believe,treatment of Skywalkers though.

Back to topic,let us hope Skywalker saga will end with at least one Skywalker alive,and on the Light side to.Good for us,good for Disney bank accounts,and voila'.

 

This turned out to be quite the prophetic post, although Kylo remains with the FO (now leader of it) and definitely did want Luke very dead.
I don't know what will happen in IX, but Kylo's story is just about the most fascinating character I've seen since Luke in the OT.

 

I would like to see him go on a journey, find out who he actually is...... I believe the Dark Side is his path.
Imagine, Kylo goes missing after the events of TLJ, see his ship entering Korriban and a bearded slightly unkept Ren appears.
He goes on this search for the old Sith temples and learn who he is! He would have visions of Vader, Sidious and like maybe even Maul?
He could return to the First Order just focused clear and Dark Side 100% ! WOULD BE SIIIIIICK!

 

I love how like Anakin in ROTS he plans to follow a third way instead of the simple light/dark duality. He also said he planned to "destroy it all". My guess is that like Vader he wants to end the destructive conflict between light and dark. He'll choose light or dark whatever best suits his interests (see his dialogues and engagements with Rey in TLJ). He's a pragmatist.

 

I'm not a GoT fan, but I see people comparing him to King Joffrey

 

Lol. If that would have been the case he would be like "Rey why are you looking to me like that you witch" for 40% of the movie. Kylo is not a nacisist

 

I meant as far as handling his new position of power as Supreme Leader.

I think the movie shows that his death is most likely. Luke doesn't seem to want to redeem him (although it can be argued that he didn't really focus on talking to Kylo during the end scene because he was buying time) and Leia seems to imply he's lost at the movie's end. Rey closes the door on him metaphorically at the end too. But this movie constantly subverts expectations, so maybe he'll do something surprising that no one saw coming.

 

Yep him & the first order will die. The last Supreme Leader.

 

The working title for EPIX is Black Diamond, so...
Kylo will take Snokes ring as his own, his precious, and be gravely corrupted by it. Therefore Kylo Ren will be played by Andy Serkis in EPIX. Adam Driver will still be playing Ben Solo in the flashbacks fishing with Chewie.

 

if we want to play the metaphor game with the working title:
black diamonds are created from massive impacts (like meteor explosions), and are photoluminescent.
