yeah some stuff I'm cool with...like the bombs dropping in space looked really good, and the visual dictionary gives a fine reason how that could happen. so like I can suspend disbelif enough mostly. but this film just required a lot of it.

It does look like Kylo has the green one on his belt in the KoR flashback scene...

Apparently: why didn't they tell us who Snoke is......is a plothole according to some people. It is hilariously funny all that armchair criticism. Whenever you want to bash a movie, say 'plothole' because there are always things you won't see or get explained. People who scream "plotholes" probably never read.

I really don't know yet where I want this to go but I kinda like the idea that Kylo bleed Luke's green crystal. That would make the tragedy of Kylo's turn (and Luke's failure) even darker. Kylo killing Han Solo with Luke's old crystal, oh man. AND it would explain why Luke doesn't have the green saber on Crait.

And he's actually completely in-character to how his character developed in VII. In the end, he wants to rescue Rey. Of course his first reaction is to save her. For Finn, not trying to save her equals being a traitor.

Luke projected himself in such a way to make his projection believable for Kylo.
    1. He looked almost exactly the same as how he looked when Kylo rebelled against him
    2. the forceback (trailer version) shows Kylo holding Luke's sabre. Kylo knows Luke has lost his sabre. If Luke would have used his green sabre, Kylo would figure out that Luke would just be a projection. So Luke used a blue one.

My memory has failed me. Not on his belt but he is potentially holding it in this scene. Dunno....maybe there is another shot?

    Plot Hole Thread Update

18 pages later and no one has posted a real plot hole. People have called things stupid, called me a liar, argued over gravity, tactics, and things they didn't understand, but no plot holes.

I have noticed one thing the people who don't like this film are good at and that's voting. This tread is rated "poor" simply because people are upset there are no plot holes in the film they didn't like.

Question: Do you think if the internet existed in 1980 people would have been arguing over why the Falcon was allowed to escape the asteroid belt so easy? I mean, why didn't the Empire just surround the belt?

    Christ and the rest!
Every film is full of silly little things that require a suspension of disbelief.
Still no plot holes in TLJ though...

Question, how long did it take Ray in the Falcon to travel from the rebel base in order to find Luke to point when she held out the lightsaber ?

Now think back to the start of TLJ.

Second question, how did R2D2 get from the Falcon to Lukes cave/house on the Island ? It is a steep rocky climb. He did not use his little rockets in TRLJ ? Did he use them this time ?

I am not 100 percent certain but the hologram R2D2 projected in the Cave showing Leia was not the same. There was something wrong there.

They did not, yet. Are we just going to assume we have seen all ships of them?
Looks like his gloved hand to me.

There's loads in the film that makes no sense. weather these are plot holes or not I don't know. Why R2 had the map with him and was left with Leia is just weird. surely Luke needed him to fly the X-Wing anyway, and if he truly didn't want to be found, why leave a map in the droid he left with his sister?

But the problems I have with the film are not 'plot holes' they are things I don't understand design wise.

what was the design reason to have luke be a projection? I can think of no reason to include it in the movie. it underminds his death and the final fight becuase it removes any threat but then as a double twist Luke dies anyway....so why not have him go to Crait in person to fight? wouldn't that have been more engaging?

None of these questions are related to holes in the plot.

wait it explained where R2 got it from? you mean when Kylo says he got the map from the ruins of the empire?

So R2 got it from there too. and Lor Sen Tekka got his map from Jaku where he was looking for it to locate Luke. I suppose thats all fair. but it didn't seem like that in the films.

the map is always described as 'the map to skywalker' so it sounds like it was made for that purpous, not that it was just a galactic map.

Probably a good question for a thread. This is subjective, but having Luke die fighting Kylo Ren would have been awful. Instead he gets the best of his former student. He does something that's truly legendary.

R2 had part of the map with the missing piece - he downloaded it unknowingly when he was plugged into the Death Star.

Clearly the ahch to location has been removed prior to the fall of the Empire. My guess is that someone removed it from the archives in order to keep it hidden from the empire as jedi used such locations as a sanctuary after order 66. Possible Kenobi plot for his standalone maybe?

Artoo wasn’t in the cave. He was on the Falcon. You need to watch the film again before posting more of these “holes”.

By the way, has anyone else noticed that despite claiming to be making a unified canon, this film basically ignores or outright contradicts some crucial ancillary stories like Bloodline? You'd think a lot of what happens in that novel would be relevant to Ben's turn to the Dark Side but apparently, that wasn't important enough to address. Really makes you wonder what the point even is. What makes it even more strange was that Rian contributed to the novel.

His teacher. Maybe the whole procedure is only achievable by becoming one with the force. Force powers are never explained in detailed on screen.
Oh where do I start. No and no. R2 got the full map from the Death Star. Lor San Tekka was traveling with Luke and knew his motivation to find the First Jedi Temple. Lor san tekka was not trying to find Luke, he was living on Jakku with the church. A looks for Skywalker and B knows the map to the first temple, it makes sense to assume that if Luke found it and can be located there.

I've had people that share your opinions give me a "trolling" rating on posts that definitely never warranted one so I'd get used to that.
