This actually prompts an interesting discussion. I think we can all agree that the OT is excellent and the very reason why we are all fans and are here right now.

Now, take a look at Palpatine in the OT. What does the OT actually reveal about Palpatine? He is called Palpatine, he is the Emperor, he is evil, he masters the dark side, and he corrupted Darth Vader. Period. No need to explain how or why he achieved any of these things. Because, again, he is not a main character.

Maybe they'll go a different direction with Snoke, but I don't expect any deep dive in Snoke's motivations / history, for the exact same reason that the OT didn't do it with Palpatine. Uber bad guys are necessary for the story, but not really all that interesting. They are more of support structures for the characters that really matter.

Why do you hate Filoni? The Clone Wars tone is what I'm talking about. Rebels was too dumbed down in the beginning. It evolved a bit, but the TCW was better in every way.
Why would you need detail on throw away characters that aren't the person driving the events. Snoke is literally driving the events with the help of Kylo.
Really, how would you know that? It sure looks like he did if you only watched TFA.
We shouldn't get the bare minimum. Good story tellers give you exactly what is needed for a satisfying story.

I agree to a point. But leaving Snoke as a background character is not necessary. Again, this is a SEQUEL trilogy. The question WHY and HOW will always be asked because we know how the OT ended. When we were introduced to the OT, the Empire and the Emperor simply WERE. They existed and we could relate to their being a dictatorship, etc etc. In TFA The First Order just pops up with barely any knowledge of HOW or WHY. We cannot accept that they just existed like we did the Empire because we already know the Empire fell and Ewoks sang the Yub Nub song. The dictatorship was destroyed. Sorry, we need more this time or it may as well be a reboot (not saying it is).

He's a hack who's devotion to little pet characters takes presence over telling a good story. TCW was even more dumbed down then rebels at hte start. Rebels is the superior show in every aspect by animation, which disney just won't match.

You could say the same about the Emperor - how much did we learn about him in the OT? Dooku was a big driver of events, we learn nothing about him.

The First Order was created by Rae Sloane and Brendol Hux created the First Order, not Snoke. Snoke later found them in the Unknown Regions and became their leader. This is the kind of detail you get from novels and comics that isn't needed in the movies.

Excactly what you need for a satisfying story = the bare min. What info do you need for a good story, thast what they'll give us in the movie. For the kind of deep info you're looking for, its the EU.

But everything you said about hte Empire in the OT applies to the first Order.

Not much. We didn't need to know. None of us really cared to know. Most of us want to know about Snoke. Again, if he's not important than they should have done like Lucas and not introduce him in TFA. His introduction and his conversations with Kylo Ren, along with his mentions by Leia and Han made him important.

The same is true of Snoke.

And I always wanted to know more about the Emperor (oh how Lucas let me down).

The Emperor is a presence in ANH. Simply seeing him doesn't = a huge deal which much be develed into in depth.

We'll get just enough info onSnoke to tell a good story (which may end up being very little, in the grand scheme of things) - and the bulk of the info you're looking for will come in novels and comics.

Agreed. They need to at least give us the basics on his backstory.

Though the basic's might be as little/simple as Snoke sayings - The First Order was lost and adrift in what you call the Uncharted REgions. I found them and gave them purpose and direction.

Thats it- We know the First Order was formed in the Uncharted Regions, we know they existed bfre Snoke, Snoke found them and became their leader. We might not need anymore then that.

You're probably right. Though i would like to get a little more backstory, if done right, this could suffice.

That's the problem. We got more backstory on Galen Erso in Rogue One than Snoke!

How exactly does a guy find a lost adrift army and just take them over?

I've thought along the same lines. We may not know much about Snoke by the end of the trilogy. I don't think they will specifically say on film that he is not Plaguies thus the long lasting, circular debate will continue.

You have to read the novel to find out.

I'm not aware of a Snoke Novel. I think they've steered clear of anything Snoke related to see where Rian Johnson takes things. If he doesn't do much with his character, I hope they do something to expand upon his story before Episode 9.

Snoke is unlike anything we sough before in terms of the subtleties of his knowledge of the Force.

There was never a Force user that was said to been able to infleunce fetus of unborn child in a womb of another Force sensitive woman, doing it from the other side of the Galaxy.

Extraorinary being. From my point of view his knowledge is anlike enything that was ever met in this Galaxy.

It is the fundament of the Dark Side that is "comming from the space beyond the border of this Galaxy", as the Emperor Palpatine foreseen in the Aftermath novel.

My reserach has shown he is Extragalactic being.Alien invasion,is this the shocking truth?

They aren't going to answer questions when fans give them billions of dollars in free advertising by discussing the questions. We talk here on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and so. If they gave us full answers they'd kill the viral questions.

With enough effort involved, with read, and with little drop of talent we can decode some elements .There is no way they can hide ¸just about everything from the devoted meticulous analysis.

Maybe. My guess is the shocking truth is going to be a major political betrayal.
