I think it's unlikely Luke and Rey would travel to Coruscant because if Ahch-To is the original Jedi Temple, then everything they would need to know about the Force would come from there.
I also think based off the set photos that people have been able to acquire the story for VIII will be a much tighter, more intimate storyline, so traveling from place to place for everyone would not jive with that concept.

It was in Aftermath, but I don't remember *exactly*. Something about the capital rotating between planets as an attempt to appease member systems and de-centralize power.

@jmjawors It is also explained in the Visual Dictionary that the capital was rotated (chosen through democratic election) among the member worlds.

In the Aftermath books there is still a lot of unrest on Coruscant. The first capital of the New Republic was Chandrilla, the home planet of Mon Mothma. You are correct about the capital rotating amongst New Republic member systems. At the time of TFA, Hosnian Prime is the capital

I would love to see Coruscant again... but I doubt it.

Yes, in early drafts of Return of the Jedi, it was to appear under the name Had Abbadon. Two partially-constructed Death Stars would be orbiting the Imperial captial, and the Emperor resided in a lava throne room etc.
