    I enjoy the puppet more because he has a higher sense of charm to him but the CGI looks better

    The CGI was a vast improvement over the TPM puppet, which was so far removed from the ESB/RotJ puppet it was silly.

    Because Yoda's species is unknown, and the properties of his species are unknown, you can't eliminate the possibility that maybe Yoda's species just happens to look one way for 870 years and then starts aging rapidly. I mean, if GL is the inventor of a fictional species, it can have whatever properties he says, right? :)

    But having said that, I'm actually going to say that I prefer CGI, and apparently Lucasfilm changed their mind about Yoda's aging process.

    CG Yoda. It matches up with the rest of the trilogy, not to mention looks better.

    Never liked the Ep 1 puppet from 1999 to now nor going to change my view on it.

    The CGI update was WAY BETTER.

    strange, when I first made this thread i preferred the puppet, now 2 years later i actually like the cgi better, someone brought up: for continuity in the PT & I agree,

    BUT: puppet-Yoda in OT will ALWAYS win over cgi-Yoda :)

    Unpopular opinion time (don't hate). xD

    I've never understood the hate for the Phantom Menace Yoda puppet. It more closely resembles the OT version of Yoda, even if it doesn't look wonderful, and besides, if it had been kept throughout the PT, that would have been one thing fewer that was made with CGI.

    I actually like the CGI Yoda int the prequels, it allowed him to be a more fleshed out interactive character.

    I much prefer Yoda as CGI in TPM. He actually looks like Yoda whereas that puppet was just bad.

    I would imagine they'll go down the route of puppet, though, in the new film. He was only CGI in AotC and RoTS because of the action sequences. I can't see Yoda's force ghost jumping all over the place so there's really no need for him to be CGI.
