SPECULATION Your thoughts on Attack Of The Clones

It is a terrible movie that I can enjoy from a certain point of view, while The Phantom Menace is a terrible movie that I struggle to enjoy from any point of view. However, I watched TPM anti-cheese edit on youtube last night and it is a great improvement. Hoping the AOTC one does likewise.

 

AOTC is indeed my least favorite Star Wars movie but it is part of the sage. I can name 2 movies way worse than than AOTC: Dragonball Evolution and The Last Airblender.

The anti cheese edit is ok but sometimes the cuts are so sudden that you feel like there is missing a scene (not the scene that is actually cut) but there is something missing. Just a feeling i have. If you enjoy and prefer the anti cheese edit, than i am happy for you

 

I think you're confusing The Human Centipede 2 for Attack of the Clones ...

 

I've come to terms with the prequels. I think it might have been Einstein (don't quote me) who said that the mark of an intelligent person is the ability to maintain two contradictory thoughts at once. (E.g. an intelligent person can study the science of evolution in school and still believe in God.) Similarly, a true Star Wars fan can still enjoy the prequels while simultaneously acknowledging that they are poorly made films that are inferior to the OT. That's the way I've tried to make myself look at the PT.

 

Agree. I enjoyed each movie (coming out of the theater and re-watching), and the box office sales results (inflation adjusted especially) tell us many others did too. I think it's a waste of energy to compare them individually or as OT vs. PT. I enjoy Star Wars so much more when I think of it as a continuum (like a comic or book series).

 

I like AOTC more than TPM. TPM bores the ever living F**k out of me.

 

Evidence For The Prosecution!

1. The clones don't actually do anything until the last few scenes of the film. Yet the movie is named after them,,,,?!
2. The clones don't attack. They come to rescue and defend.

Verdict: GUILTY! Worst titled movie ever.

 

I actually adore Attack of the Clones. I recently watched all six in order of release and Attack of the Clones was the one the second most enjoyable for me. I think this largely has to do with nostalgia but some scenes are just wonderful.

Jango Fett and Obi-Wan's duel was excellent and I loved the awe I felt when all the Jedi ignite their lightsabers in the arena. Sure there is a lot if cgi and some of it is bad but it is bearable. The romance is awful. I do not deny that. Something about this movie though makes me love Star Wars. It is definitely my favorite prequel and possibly my third favorite of the star wars films after ROTJ and TFA.

 

Attack of the Clones is the only Star Wars movie that made me angry when i watched it.

 

No Star Wars movie can make me angry. I love them all.

 

i personally think attack of the clones has a really compelling story.. and a few minutes of romantic chitter chatter between anakin and padme doesn't make it the worst film ever/worst thing made by a human being. i feel bad for people who can't get over that and just enjoy the story that was being told.

 

I find people have other grumbles with the movie as well such as Haydeen Christensen's overall poor acting and the overuse of CGI but even so it looked incredible at its time and is still enjoyable. It's not perfect but it's Star Wars and that's enough for me.

Funny enough a lot of miniatures mattes and things like that were used .
