That was some platforming in that scene. Mario bros could be proud. Almost the whole movie looked like a video game. I remember playing this game:

    Far superior :p

I've said this before but hat last minute addition of seeing the literal battlefield after The Jedi escape their execution was literally to show off a new computer program to the industry ...

It's possible. The ILM lobby was very poweful in those days. They made tons of money. George would say: "Ewan, imagine a great battle on a desert planet, but you are hardly impressed by it because you are a Jedi and those guys have seen this kinda stuff before...you know". McGregor would say: "Wouldn't there be sand on a desert planet?" George would say: "nah, don't worry the effects guys will fill that in later".

That was a short summary of the prequels.

Actually, he entire execution on Geonosis had actual sand and all on the set which was a very much real set except for The CGI characters and skies ...

I'll just leave this here and go, I grew up with the prequels not long after seeing the OT, I was never blinded by nostalgia, now as a grown woman I tend to look on the positive side of this movie.

I like the action, I like the music, all the Jedi fighting side by side gets me every time, I like the story.

I'm tired of the hate, and of the hate of the prequels in general. That is all.

I'm the same way as you, in that I was never blinded although I was barely 9 years old when AOTC was released and I loved it then and I love it now...I DO a realize its shortcomings these days but that doesn't mean you should openly hate on it (I'm talking about he major heater)

It appears that you and I are the same age.:) I do understand why some people may be upset with the way it is, but I still enjoyed it. I love the prequels as equally as I love the original trilogy.

Exactly, exactly, don't openly hate on something that you don't like. If I hate something, what do I do? I IGNORE IT. Focus on the parts of Star Wars that you enjoy, and be positive. :)

I understand people are upset that their childhood is over and I can understand that because there are some things that I am a fan of that ended long ago but what I intend to do is give the new stuff a chance, if I don't like it, I ignore it and focus on the parts that I do like. Publicly hating on it as if it came out yesterday is a waste of time.

Do something more positive with your life.;)

I'll be 23 in May, and funny thing is I saw AOTC in theaters twice.

My favourite romance theme is Anakin and Padme's *blush* and last time I watched that movie I was now able to notice the other Jedi more since I watched the entire clone wars series.

Another great moment of the film is when Ani finds his mom, that was right in the heart there for me when she dies in his arms.

I need to buy it on iTunes, oh and I want to to be played at my wedding if I ever get married.

Their relationship isn't perfect but that's what makes it interesting, plus I love the forbidden love concept.

Lol me and my ex had a similar build up to our relationship as a skin and padme where she was weary of me, then we became best friends, then got together...everything but the married part so maybe that's why I relate to it for nostalgic reasons as well as my "childhood" .

Yeah, this is the only one I cannot finish. I actually kind of like The Phantom Menace which would have been ok without the antics of Jar Jar and ROTS is a good film. But this film is ridiculous, from the dialogue, the history of Jango/Boba, and especially the last act on that planet, including the Gladiator arena, the converyor belt, etc. Its trash.

How do you that this was Lucas' only intention?

The problem with AotC, is that it just doesn't make any sense! Wrapped in unconvincing CGI

Story time: it wasn't Lucas's decision for the end battle. It was Rob Coleman & John Knoll. They begged GL to include it and it was considered the forefront of VFX at the time so the director slowed it literally months before the release...it's all said in the commentary of the movie .

I have to quote old Ben Kenobi on this one. It all depends from a certain point of view. For me TFA has been the worst SW movie ever since it was an unoriginal copy/paste of ANH but to each his/her own.

I believe all of the STAR WARS movies have shortcomings. Actually, I can pretty much say the same for all movies.

I do not think Attack of the Clones is generally well made movie, but this thread title is a huge exaggeration. Has this thread writer watched the Last Airbender, Troll 2 or The Room? These and AOTC are not even in the same league. Also, blindly using Plinkett's reviews to argue that the prequels are bad is anachronistic these days. Those are bashed and criticized lots of times. Bring your own reasons.

I agree, watching the PT movies has kind of become a so-bad-its-good experience for me and my friends. Love them or hate them, most fans have to admit that they are ridiculously quotable and fun to poke fun at. Even characters that are nearly universally disliked such as Jar Jar have memorable lines in the movies, even if they're memorable for the wrong reasons ;).

As for those upset by the statement in the Plinkett review about Episode II being the worst thing ever made by a human, the statement was obviously said in hyperbole to be humorous, which I'll admit that it got a chuckle out of me. The guys at Red Letter Media may have big issues with the PT, but they don't think they are LITERALLY the worst things ever made by humans. Their whole spiel is built upon being sarcastic and exaggerated. The reason he keeps calling Jango Fett Boba Fett for instances, isn't because he doesn't know the difference, but he plays his character up as a guy who doesn't care and is even a little dumb. He also does it to annoy fans who can't catch on to what he is doing by calling Jango Boba, said fans then post how dumb he is in the comments, thus proving that they don't get the joke.

I don't agree with ALL the points in the Plinkett reviews, but I enjoy them more as entertainment. There's a dark part of me that loves to watch critics savage movies, even if they are movies that I enjoy sometimes. I think I'm not the only one though given the popularity of Youtube personalities like the Nostalgia Critic, who I frequently disagree with but enjoy his reviews all the same.
