Which era would you like this new trilogy to be in?

I am definitely not the first to say this in the thread, but I would love me some canon old republic type stuff. Like I’m talking the origin of the Jedi, origin of the Sith, and maybe a dive into the first Mandalorian Jedi, Tarre Vizsla.
Thoughts?

That’s pretty interesting, what would you like to see from a post prequels trilogy?

 

I would love something waaaaaay before TPM. With a lot of the lore that is not present in SW, it would be cool to see how that "lore" was back in the day when Jedi and Sith were relatively new to the galaxy. Even a trilogy about the those beginnings would be cool.

Yes! Jedi and Sith is a large battle sequence worked into a good story and treatment.

 

2020 seems fitting for anything Rian does.

 

My preference is the same time as the sequels but in the unknown regions to develop a parallel storyline with different governments and schools of force users.

If in the existing "storyline" then way before or way after the familiar.

 

Easily before the prequels. And on top of that the old Republic. There is just so much stuff you can do with the era. It’s an open book in new canon.

 

After reading some of these replies, I think it might be interesting to have it set during the Prequels but be completely removed from the story of those movies. Have it be on some backwater, unknown, forgotten system that has never seen a Jedi, or maybe never even heard of one. Maybe it has some valuable resource to the Separatists and that is how they get sucked into the the entire Galactic stage. Okay now I’m just making a story treatment...

 

I agree that’s what I want too.

But I’m not sure I would trust someone not named George Lucas to build out stories and lore before TPM. I especially wouldn’t trust RJ.

If Filoni was in charge I could get on board.

 

I voted for after the ST, meaning the events that take place after the ST, with a 10 year jump ahead from the current events in TROS. If (fingers crossed) LF can coax the ST cast back, I can see them giving Johnson charge of the films. Especially since he was the one who helped make Reylo so popular and a cash cow.

 

That point in time between The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.
