So you have actors monitored while reading scripts but can't place a guy to guard the monitors? I don't buy the monitors for the dailys being in an unguarded tent. It also would seem super easy to have anonymously uploaded the pic to the internet by now.

p.s. When i go to early screenings, they occasionally take your phones before the event. This could be done on set as well.

Would have been tough to take a picture of a monitor when there are literally dozen of people surrounding you. Since he says the picture has a green lightsaber in it, we are talking about an edited shot, not an on set shot.

In before someone says that their source will lose their job if it gets released.

At the end of the day, the only solution is for someone, who can be trusted, to confirm that such a picture exists and its contents, if it is not possible to leak the actual picture itself. Otherwise, no legitamacy at all.

Good point, but then again tons of photos of concept art have been leaked and I'm sure those were heavily guarded too!

Hi everyone. I've been out of town and connectivity is something of an issue.

So...no I was not lying. Please stop bumping this thread up hoping to get me to elaborate more on what I saw. I've stated it many times over and it does not change with the passage of time. I was shown a picture on an iPhone and I still believe it to be legit. If there comes a time when I do not believe that you all will be the first to know. I have no interest in providing anyone in the Cantina or my fellow staff of SW7N with false information.

It's good to know you still stand by what you saw. It gives me hope there are still surprises in store for us despite what MSW says.

So say they had guards posted; what if one of the guards snapped a pic? Do they then post guards on the guards? And guards for the guards guarding the original guards? (Ad infinitum)

I don't doubt they took huge steps during production to keep their secrets, but at a certain point the only defense is trust; with as many cast and crew that were on set, I can definitely see someone breaking trust to sneak in a phone and snap a pic. As for "anonymously" uploading it somewhere: we're in an age where anonymity really doesn't exist. If someone wants to find you, they will. With that in mind, there's a huge difference between snapping a quick pic with your phone for yourself/to prove at a later date that you worked on such a historic film, and doing so with the intent of leaking massive spoilers about said film onto the world wide web. I trust @Kyle and his source.

I would say @Kyle *is* a trustworthy source. I think the majority of people here have no doubt that he's a trustworthy person, so the only real question is was the picture a fake that fooled him? But honestly, for me even that possibility is a reach because what he describes, with those specific details, would be really difficult to fake.

As for how someone could have taken the photo, that seems pretty obvious to me - someone at ILM took a photo of their computer monitor. I've worked on some super secretive projects and I can say with certainty that ILM is not confiscating their employees' cell phones every day when they show up to work. And the fact is they don't have to. Leaking imagery like that is a *federal* crime. You don't just lose your job, you can get your life fined away, and even go to prison. There's a reason Kyle's source showed it to him in person on his own cell phone and did not send him a copy of it.

Just a reminder, in the starwars7news article that reports Kyle's claims, they say they have a second source who reports that this image exists.

Hard not to agree on this... It's difficult to imagine a scenario that justifies how he's dressed in this description. Seems like in order for this to be true there would have to be a moment somewhere in the middle of the film where Kylo abondons his evil role and his mask/robes, but that would diverge dramatically from the MSW outline.

The photo could have been from a costume concept test. Which could also explain if it ends up not being part of the plot. Films like this will often test out looks for characters and either film of take photos of them in some sort of context to get a fell for how the concepts they are designing work on screen.

I could see a situation during pre-prod where they were working on costumes for Hamill, Ford, and Driver and had them set up for a photo or brief shoot so they could compare concepts and decide on a final pick.

That's a good theory. But does that explain the finished lightsaber effect in the photo?

The first leaked photo of Kylo Ren was this. It could also be a wardrobe test, who knows?

I hear ya. It could of just been a screen test or promo shot.

Thing is Kyle's description made it sound like it was taken from an actual scene involving all three characters.

Adding the effect to still is pretty easy. I'm sure they's do stuff like that for test shots to see how the lightsaber glow looks too.

Yeah, my thought when I read the description recently was that perhaps he was describing Kylo without the caps and mask.

I think its also important to remember that one of the early pieces of leaked art had Luke's Green lightsaber in scenes that at least according to what we have learned via rumor is the blue lightsaber....

Side note: I'd like to see a Blue or a green blade in the next bit of footage we see whether that is a trailer or more behind the scenes. Preferably in Finn's hands just mess with the jerks that pissed about a black storm trooper.

EDIT: Here it is . That looks like Rey(Size) and early concept Finn
