SPOILER Adam Driver

I'm not sure why, but the thought of seeing an Imperial soldier actively deserting the Empire (which has seemed to be the rumor thus far) really excites me. Would like to see a bit of turmoil in him, or something from his view that shows why he is put off. I'm getting images in my head of various movies with overall anti-war themes, primarily ones about Vietnam.

When you said that, I had an odd image in my head of Luke saying to Driver's character "No, *I* am your uncle..." at some point.

it's interesting that the conversation seems to have taken place shortly after he was cast; maybe this is a genuine slip?

 

He's been reported as the villain by countless sources, including Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, and Entertainment Weekly.

I'm just going to throw this out there: no way Driver is a Solo son. Mizzlewump made no mention of it. Neither did Kyle. Not going to happen in my opinion. what do you think?

 

I say that Adam Driver is playing the son of Ezra Bridger.

 

Muzzlewump was supposedly the 2nd JJ draft not the final one and this is if he was right to begin with.

 

I adore Kyle. But he also said Gleeson was the Solo kid. Sorry. Not buying it. Why would Han so adamantly defend Driver to Luke? Driver is the Solo son. Wouldn't be a true Star Wars trilogy IMO without family v. family. This next trilogy is going to be sister v. brother.

I for one support our Driver is not a Solo faction. I see Gleeson more as a Skywalker with several of the tragic plot points mentioned of Driver actually being Gleeson, but I can understand being wrong

 

My point exactly! I don't think the rumor of Luke Killing Han is actuate. Also, on the subject of said rumor, it does not account for Boyega and Ridley at all. I don't expect it to be true.

 

Driver is the son of Joe Douglas Driver. Search the internet and you will know this as a fact.

 

I know Star Wars has always incorporated themes of family, so it's not the craziest assumption to have been made about TFA, but I don't recall ever having any confirmation that any of the cast are going to be related (apart from Luke/Leia before anyone dodges my valid point with a silly riposte). We're all expecting familial ties to be present but who's to say there is no Solo child. No young Skywalker to carry on his family's (in)famous legacy.

I'm more curious to find out who Serkis is playing personally.

 

Agreed. And keep in mind there should be some sort of Sith Student. No one fits that bill except Driver.

I said a few weeks ago on the forum I think Adam Driver's TFA character will be akin to the Rene Bellaq character in Raiders of the Lost Ark. He may aid or guide the main bad guys but not fully support them.
He may double cross the young leads then secretly join Darth Plaguis in the very end(the new Vader).

I've read a few online set reports & screenplay draft messages that said Luke has NO children or any "love interests". No Mara Jade no secret love.
The few scenes with Driver in a X Wing flight suit seem to draw the "aristocrat/collector" theme.

I want Adam Driver to be a bad guy on account of he looks like a bad guy. Not an evil menacing character, but he just looks bad. He looks like bad news in natural casing bro!

The Belloq note above was spot on. He may not BE the dope bad guy, but he may be the one that drives (again with the puns) the plot to favor the bad guy. Just because he is bad guy, doesn't make him bad GUY.
