Erza in episode VII should be at the mid/late of his fifties... Simple math, he was born 19 years before the battle of Yavin (wookieepedia) so 19 + 4 years (Battle of Endor took place 4 years after the Battle of Yavin according to EU/Legends - So it's more like an assumption here) + around 30 years after Episode 6 = 53 years old (If he's alive).

Adam Driver looks younger (I know make up and stuff) but I really doubt that Erza will be in ep. VII but who knows

I agree, he won't be in epi. VII

If you take age, plus the fact that the general audience has no clue has to who Ezra is or what Rebels is, it makes it hard to create "fan service" in a movie. If Star Wars fans do get rebels call-backs in Ep. VII, then it will be something like

    1. the same droid appearing in both timelines and in the background
    2. Something like Erza's lightsaber showing up in a market as an easter egg in the background.

Disney/lucasfilm are not creating Ep.VII to please the dedicated fanbase, they are there to provide a general audience with a great story so they make money.

All I hope is Driver plays a dark villain he does not suit the goody guy appearance as for Ezra he has his own path not related to TFA you never know he might have his own spin-off film in the future Im expecting to much but I feel he deserves it.

Ezra would be too old for Driver to play, in my view. If Ezra were to appear, which I don't think will happen, I'd figure the actor mentioned in this article would be a better fit.
    http://www.starwars7news.com/2014/09/miltos-yerolemou-joins-the-cast-of-star-wars-episode-7.html

Addendum: I'd like to note that the idea of Driver playing Ezra would work, so long as the "Ezra frozen in carbonite" rumor or something similar proves true. But I don't think it will.
I've heard two lines about Driver that I like. Either he's the bad guy from the start, or he starts out as a normal guy (not "good", but not bad either) and falls to the bad side during the film. I do agree, I think Ezra probably won't be in TFA. Heh, frankly I'm not so sure he'll survive Rebels.

I think the biggest Plot speculation mistake we can make is assuming any character from Rebels will be in TFA and an ever bigger mistake you can make is assuming they will have a main role if they are. I feel like Rebels is inadvertently misguiding so many theories and its going to end up having so little to do with what goes on in TFA. Maybe the distraction isn't inadvertent?

You have to remember Luke/Leia & Ezra were all born on the same exact day.

Well lets see how the rebel series plays out.
Two births were are the odds.
No chance, not disrespect to Daisy pretty girl & all but I think the likeness in the eyes etc won't fit, she was part of the past Rey is part of the future. You can believe @MakingStarWars.

I thought perhaps I might create a thread to geek out over Adam, and his performance in the new films.

Like many of you I would guess, my favorite character of the new guys and girls, is Kylo Ren. Not only because it's a wicked cool design, but also for the fact it has the most potential of all the new characters, to be emotional, complex, raw, real and tragically human.

Moving on, the thing that prompted me to create this, was, I rented While We're Young last night, with Ben Stiller and Adam. I was very curious to see how he reads on film. I have seen him in Llewyn Davis, and I liked his brief performance, and I have seen some clips from girls that I also liked, but nothing to really show what he can do, or what he is capable of doing.

I have zero doubts now in this kid, or JJ's decision to bring him on. After watching this film, it's abundantly obvious by watching the inherent qualities Adam has, just what JJ saw in him, and what qualities Kylo possesses.

Adam is very, very naturalistic as an actor, and has a strong on screen presence. Naomi Watts is one of my favorite actresses, and has a good screen presence, but I remember watching those two in a scene and thinking, "wow, it's like she's not even there". That's how well he commanded the screen. He also has two great qualities that will give Kylo alot of humanity, even if he is not exactly a good guy.

He has an obvious vulnerability that comes across, I think from a combination of his soulful eyes, and his boyishness. He can read very young for his age on screen, which I think will serve this role very well. Imagine the contrast between this tall, intimidating, faceless knight, who by all accounts is quite powerful and at times, merciless, and then, you see him without his helmet, and he's this young looking, brooding, angry punk kid kind of thing on screen. That in and of itself suggests fertile ground for drama. What the hell is driving this guy? What inspired him to don this armor and choose the red blade?

The other quality is an inherent darkness. People that have been through tough times in their lives, you can usually read it in their eyes, and Adam has had some hardship in his early life, so maybe that is what comes across, but he has a definite dark side.

When you put all these qualities together, it's obvious that these are the reasons he was chosen, and by extension, you begin to think, what kind of story could best be served by these traits? How does a young, angry, misguided, emotional, vulnerable and tragic figure fit in with Han, Luke, and Leia? Especially one who is capable of using the force?

    I'm calling it now-

Adam Driver is going to be incredible in these films. If JJ uses half of the stuff I saw Adam exude in that film, Kylo is going to be fascinating and dimensional in a way we haven't seen in a Star Wars film. I remember a great quote from Hellboy 1..."we like people for their qualities, but we love them for their flaws". The worse Kylo is in some ways, the more (oddly) humanity he has, because you realize how lost he is and how far he has fallen from a time when he must have been innocent.

I can't wait for this movie!

    Great post!
I agree, Adam Driver will be great in this role. Genuine villains are always hard to get, specialy for a Vader-esque role. And with Kasdan on the team, I'm very positive that we'll have a top notch bad guy. Though th character that intrigues me the most is the one Del Toro will be playing.

Both Adam Driver and Oscar Isaac seem like fantastic actors, and both seem genuinely interested in making their characters the best they can be. Hopefully the casting is spot on all around.

It seems all of the actors have really put their backs into it and tried to enhance what was in the script.

Im excited for Driver, but the thought of Del Toro being a villain just gives me chills. Just imagine the dialogue. If they can mirror him like the collector id be very happy.

This thread is over a year old. The OP is one of the original sources of those rumors about Kylo that have been circulating.

I always love your posts on this forum!! I've been watching Girls since it started and always loved Adam. When he was cast I was so excited that a much wider audience would see how great he is. As you said, he has a very powerful screen presence even when he's portraying comedy.
