Fair enough. I'll admit I'm approaching it very skeptically due to the lack of any elaboration and no responses from the OP yet.

I did have a similar thought as you originally did, that it was his real name and the other (Kylo Ren) is a self-given name. It would make sense to some extent.

Points 1 and 2 are A+ my friend. I'm with you there.
I'm saying those two points combined with he goes down in his X-wing in an early battle and is assumed dead. Possibly the Bigger bad guy saves his life and he shows up with his loyalty to his savior and the darkside.
MUCH rather see that than a random spoiled aristocrat or some spy crap.

One question though: do the voices Driver begins hearing (which lead him to kill any twentysomething hipsters -- kidding, but let a bobo dream) originate from the main baddie, which is revealed towards the end? I'm assuming yes, but it wasn't made clear. Does Driver know the main baddie... or is it just a voice in his head, and he finally meets the baddie in the end, when it's revealed he's been used.

Honestly, @Kyle, I really enjoy your posts. You keep it interesting and your speculation always leads to good topics of discussion whether true or not. Its just that really…if you look at the OP…this is all a rehash of a bunch of speculative material that we have already made. NOW…maybe his source is credible and the Cantina speculation was correct in ways…but its not groundbreaking.
Regardless, its on all kinds of online news outlets linking directly to this post now. SO…thanks for being the best of the new trooper squadron and bringing views in to the site haha. Sorry @Kyle i read it again thinking it was made today. Back to my mindless wandering. Apologies.

 

I like the idea of Driver's character being killed by EP7's conclusion, and then at the film's climax, another character we have not up until that instance been introduced to, mysterious and remaining so until Ep8, holding Sith artifacts the good guys thought they has confiscated or destroyed outright, including Vader's mask. Possibly we see Vader's fire-damaged mask earlier in the film as part of Driver's collection, but the new villain reflecting upon or fitting a brand new version of it to his shadowed face, or turning around a la Anakin in Ep3 (on Mustafar, hooded) and instead of Sith eyes we are met by the deep black half-orbs of Vader's now-upgraded helmet...
