No way. Ashoka has power form The Daughter, given from the The Father after the Son of Mortis killed her. This is a trick!

    Something about it looked... off
Gonna rewatch but maybe it was morphed to look like TCW Anakin? I don't know... Don't really care. Pretty amazing episode. Even the "snips" line played pretty good for me. So, did Anakin pull her through? Or can she just not die because of the Mortis thing? WBW looks perfect.

Ahsoka: Sabine can I count on you?
    Sabine: You know you can.

    Why Sabine... why?

Sabine needs a jetpack, maybe she could have taken off with the map.

It’s like I was having a dream I was about to make out with someone I have a crush on and then they suddenly turned into my dead grandma. Some real cold shower action.

Needless CG rubber face. Way to ruin the moment. Yuck.

The slooooooowness of so much of the show offsets otherwise great scenes. Pace, stop, look, ponder, one line of dialogue; pace, stop, look, ponder, one line of dialogue. I'm all about calm and slow moments if we're learning something -- think Obi Wan and Luke in ANH in Obi Wan's house where we get loads of exposition in an otherwise quiet scene. But man, in this series it's all slow and empty moments interjected with really great action.

I'm still digesting the WBW ending. Was kind of hoping we weren't going back there because I'm not down with the time travel element in SW. Wasn't even crazy about it in Rebels, and I loved that show.

I like the Sabine turn. This is twice she's royally screwed up in the first four episodes -- in fact she could be viewed as a liability thus far. It will be interesting to see Ahsoka return from the dead (again), pair up with Hera & crew, pick up Sabine's helmet, and figure out a way to get wherever the baddies are going. (I figured they'd all get whisked away together aboard that ring.)

I knew the moment I saw the Rhodian x-wing pilot he might as well be wearing a red Star Trek shirt.

It's really hard to disagree, especially with that analogy. For me, the emotion of the moment and the beauty of the World Between Worlds did overshadow his face, but... Damn.
I just don't understand. Wasn't Hayden on-set? That was some Rogue One Tarkin-level CGI. Why even deep fake/de-age him at all?! Just an odd decision and this series has looked SO good, his face was just jarring. Maybe we are gonna see live-action unaltered Anakin going forward, this was some weird vision?

Potato, potahto, all I can say is Dave took a pretty awesome sharp turn this week, and it really looks like all bets are off moving forward. So much big info- Huyang can tussle, Clan Wren is gone, Jacen IS Force-Sensitive, Baylan knew that Anakin was Vader and has zero love for him, Baylan knows everything about everyone.

I don't know if I'd call it a "turn"- she made a decision in the moment, but she was always gonna choose saving Ezra despite whatever risk. Baylan made her an offer she couldn't refuse. She knew the other side of that decision was Ezra never getting home, and likely her and everyone else she cared about being killed. In her mind, Ahsoka is dead, and at least this way there is a chance she can save Ezra and they can fight their way back out.

    I needed a longer star wars rock'em and sock'em!

    RIP Marrok

    Everything about Baylan is awesome!

What happened to the people and tech behind Luke in The Mandalorian and especially TBOBF?

(I haven't seen the episode yet, but) if the CGI looks sketchy, it's probably to do with cost-saving measures, which are pretty high on the agenda nowadays.

Can't wait to see it tonight (my time) :)

    Holy Fulcrum Shin!

Loved this episode. Was a bit afraid with the runtime, as we knew that there will be 3 versus fights in total but the episode was that and more!
Shout out to Josh from SW Theory, who actually put the Gandalf references and what he knew from the plot so far, to really predict Ahsoka "dying" and ending in World betweeen Worlds... Normally, I avoid this channel because the guy hates sequels and is quite conservative in his view on the franchise, but his co-star is killing it.

So, we still don't know much about our fallen jedi, just that they follow higher principles... usually, all the villains are.
But, the fights and interactions were awesome! Quick recap:
    • Ahsoka versus Marrok – there was no green magick when she defeated Marrok, but what happened was actually quite similar to Tales Of The jedi. What the hell was that? Like evil spirit leaving Marrok's body. My first initial idea was that Elsbeth revived a long dead Inquisitor, but we have no further information and we all presumed that Marrok is part of Baylan and Shin troupe – also, someone hinted on the Arturian Legend of a knight being reborn as a werewolf by his witch wife. And yes, spot on for all those who predicted that Marrok is a grunt to be killed off.
    • Sabine versus Shin – not much to add, except that I really like that Filoni is actually clever and instead of going completely off, with making Sabine force sensitive which I believe will make lot of fans angry for creating another Mary Sue of sorts, he emphasizes heavily that it's not being the case!
But, I really loved how Sabine realized during that fight and there were heavy visual clues, that while she won't probably become a powerful force wielding Jedi, she is still a Mandalorian, one of their biggest adversaries in history of SW and her bluff with using the force just to fire Mandalorian wrist weapon was ingenious, blink it or miss it.
    • Ahsoka versus Baylan – loved the fight and was kinda hoping for Ahsoka striking back with Anakin not actually failing and being redeemed, as she probably has to know that by know, either by feeling it through force but mainly by meeting Luke Skywalker. By the looks of it, she's not interested in chatting with Baylan and that makes sense as well because of the classic trope of doom clock.
With some bit of speculation for episodes ahead, I feel bad for Hera. While the escape sequence and nod to The Last Jedi was great, I can imagine her getting flack for loosing pilots and starships for non existing threat, as the threat is now literally out of the galaxy and I can imagine Xiono being a major d**k about it, as he is.
What Sabine did was super predictable, but this is probably her character growth towards Ahsoka from her side, as she is reckless and doesn't really think through. Kinda makes sense after her family being dead and Mandalore being wiped out, losing Ezra, but probably not enough to convince me that her character serves the plot more than her character – Rebels – she was one of the more level headed members of the crew in her younger years, already learned discipline and combined saber combat with her Mandalorian abilities highly affected by centuries of fighting between Mandalorians and Jedi. It makes me feel that her character has either retarded or she is so desperate and rotting away on Lothal really made her so bad.

Next episode is directed by Filoni, we are in the WBW, frickin' Anakin! If the rumors are true and I won't spill them here, we are for a ride next episode.
The art direction of this show is surprisingly consistent and if there was some low budget trickery, I have hardly noticed it.
With Sabine doing something that won't make the Ahsoka at that time happy, having one of the heroes onboard Eye Of Sion sounds promising for getting more screentime and exposition with them.
I think that next episode will of course follow up with Ahsoka and Anakin, we won't probably arrive in Peridea right away, so there will be lot of talk and probably, lot of rumored action of sorts and before the end titles, we are at our destination. I guess that we will probably see Thrawn in Episode 6, if not as a cliffhanger, but my bets are on arrival and sense of wonder of transcending the vast space, with Thrawn coming into the focus the episode right after.
But I won't mind both Anakin and Thrawn in the same episode, the series is short and this episode was packed, hence keep it firing Filoni!

My belief was, that Elsbeth will escape for sure and good guys will be stranded and will somehow hijack a Purrgil to jump too. But with Ahsoka going Gandalf and will probably re-emerge from WBW as Ahsoka The White, she will just step out of that realm directly in Peridea to join Sabine while Hera will be stuck in the galaxy far far away and get roasted by the bureaucrats. Until the Heir To The Empire shows up with all his long lost art fetish.

    P. S. yeah, while everything looks cool, Anakin's de age gave me Nicolas Cage Superman vibes from The Flash :/

    Seen it.
I think is like the others: slow dialogs first, then great action. But now we already need to change scenarios and move forward.

The Hyperjump was brutal. Loved it. Also it had great sound effects before and after. That was a cool scene.

Also I like when characters acts like normal people too, with their doubts and dark sides. Sabine choosing help them was great.

Sabine has no power but at least we know she has a little one with that little push...

Nice to see X-wing sorrounding The Ghost.

WBW was cool indeed. But they have to explain a lot of things now. Why and how she went there are first ones cause at this point seems it came from nowhere.

Absolutely. Was quite bad. They don't have something better? Jesus, even Tarkin was better in RO cause it played so well the shadows on his face and sets. It seems since Luke in BOBF, definetly the best one so far, a really really good one, everything has been down. The last Indiana Jones? My god, that was so bad too.

Or try "new" things that we have seen a lot in cinema or shows. Hayden is not that old. Why not try some cool professional makeup, I don't know, like before...? Is that hard?

Note: I recommend see the makeup in True Detective season 3. Insane how some characters are portrayed in 3 different ages.

    yeah...

Why? Why they have to kill that fast (again) one of the most interesting characters in a long time without even knowing more? Why he can't be at the same place as Thrawn? Is like "we kill him, one less bad guy in the room, so Thrawn can appear...". Come ooooooon. Marrok was so cool! Well, I guess from that attack style, voice and dust maybe he was a nightbrother, or someone from Dathomir as well from a lost village...

    Agreed.

Is it me or all dialogs with Ahoska are the slow ones (specially interactions with Sabine), everytime? The pace maybe is not correct or is done on purpose for her character. Who knows. Again, nothing to worry about but these little details sometimes give the difference between good and very good.

Yep, me too. Didn't expect that.

Absolutely!! What a character and actor! Love it!
I was saying all the time: Ahsoka don't kill him. Don't kill him!! I was worried about The Fallen Jedi title.

    Let's watch it again ;)

I don't see the need to de age Christensen at all. Sure, he is not in his twenties, but still looks good and I get that need for Luke obviously, but even less for force ghost apparition.

Anyway, I have seen this wild theory that Darth Maul might return as well through some Nighsister shenanigans, what do you guys think? :D
    --- Double Post Merged, Sep 6, 2023, Original Post Date: Sep 6, 2023 ---
I guess whe was affected by the Mortis arc a lot in a way that she has some hidden unlocked potential or she was sorted by the force somehow to stand in the middle or something like Bendu (what the hell was that being, we still and probably will never know).
With her being followed by the Morai (daughter) ever since... we will probably get the literal sorceress with a lightsaber in Star Wars, as the Sith are clearly warlocks. Looking forward, love it so far lore wise.

    Really? Jesus lol
Didn't like that much his comeback but his end in Rebels was really really good.

So I hope he is not coming back, for a second time.

I agree. Very consistent. All looks pretty cool and I love it. Although we have seen same sets and scenarios during for 4 episodes, which leads to some low budget trickery in my opinion. That's why now I hope to see some new sets and planets.

Another solid episode. Great action and the duals were very done. I can't wait to see what they do in the Acolyte after seeing the choreography for this series.

I have one small gripe about the series so far and I don't think they've done a very good job explaining why Thrawn is a threat. Thrawn was a bit of an outcast in the Empire. His only real ally was the Emperor because he recognized Thrawn's genius. Thrawn has been gone for what, 10 years or so? Why would his return matter? He's not some charismatic leader that's going to face down the New Republic. Also, why would he anyway? He was only a mercenary hoping to find help for the Chiss. All that said, I can understand why Sabine would go through with it based on what we know. How is Thrawn coming back going to start some major war. I don't get it.

That said, given that this hasn't been explained at all that means that inevitably Thrawn has to have a major win at the end of the series in order to establish him as villain.

Oh it's definitely sketchy, as far as Ani's face is concerned and when I saw it I thought the same. Cost cutting. Better IMO to have the money spent on new or unseen characters. We've all seen Anakin all of our friggin lives. Had the visuals in this show not been quality amazing as they have been then I may have complained about it but that has not been the case so I'll give it a pass and let my imagination take the forefront in this instance. My 4 cents. (anakin 2)

I guess I'm just not seeing this? Is the bad TV set up issues? I just pulled up the scene again on my 4K TV and then on my 4K laptop monitor and I'm not seeing a problem. Is this some kind of uncanny valley thing that's bugging people? I work in IT, know how to calibrate my TV, and have excellent eyesight FWIW.

My thoughts exactly. Hayden Christensen is one of the more remarkably well preserved middle aged men you’re likely to encounter. Soften up some of those lines with make-up, if you really feel the need. Our imaginations can do the rest.

But choosing to cover up a recognizable actor’s face with a digital Halloween mask is all kinds of baffling. Even if the effect had been flawless it still would have been weird.

No it's not a screen resolution issue. It's that first impression you get at first glance when you see an cgi animated face. You just know. In THIS case it's on the Tarkin/Leia RO level of noticibibility. It matters not. There wouldl be complaints until the end of time even if it was flawless.
