Anyone else feel bad for Mark Hamill?

I feel more sorry for those who arrive to this film with the preconceived notion that if Mark doesn't get at least 10 minutes of screen time, the film has to suck. Then, despite likely universal praise, will still stubbornly insist the film sucks.

I kid of course.

No, Mark Hamill has a career many actors would dream of and he was doing soaps and TV commercials until Lucas picked him to help pilot a visionary leap in cinema, one that for better or for worse, changed Hollywood forever afterward.

Anyone who got to practice their chosen profession to such gargantuan effect and influence should never be made to feel sorry because his character is largely omnipresent in episode 7 of a film franchise he remains a vital part of.

It's silly, like feeling sorry for Babe Ruth because he never got to manage the Yankees. Feel sorry for Al Porchnik who busted his knee a day before the scouts ever saw just how gracefully he could hit a curve.

I have no problem with it if the movie is good.
George Lucas made alot of money with his prequel, which are lacking movies in my opinion.

Disney will make Star Wars movies as long as they are making a huge profit with them.
I guess they will not stop after the ST and the two anthology movies.
They will make a short break before the audience is over saturated.
Maybe a 3-5 years break to regenerate powers and to create new ideas and then it begins again.
The sign for me was, that they don't used George Lucas outline.
So episodes X XI XII and more anthology movies are possible.
I don't think they bought the Star Wars brand just for fun.
They invested so much money, they want it back with a huge profit.
In the long run, more movies are obvious.
Maybe they planed it out already, it's only a secret to us, because they don't want to scare us off.
Quantity is not Quality, but they will try get us used to.

 

I think everyone should remember that Episode VIII is less than 2 years away. So while we might not be seeing too much Mark Hamill during this press tour, he will undoubtedly be making more appearances when VIII gets going.

 

i have it on pretty good authority that Luke has roughly fifteen minutes of screen time. youll also see him in the 1st act, on Jakku, albeit briefly. mark my words people and we can hash it out the 17th.

 

Disney will destroy it like the eventually destroy everything.

 

Do I feel bad for Mark? No, because once the movie is out he'll be in all the interviews, magazines, and on the late night talk shows.

 

He has top billing for a film he's barely in, and is the center of attention for what will be the biggest film of the year.
Pretty sure he's doing okay.

 

I suppose the same, after the release he will be invited to late night talk shows and whatever.

 

Feeling bad for Mark? Nahhhh... He's having a great time paying homage to his old mentor, Sir Guinness.
